Monty Python legend Eric Idle has been hospitalised for the second time in three days. The 82-year-old actor spoke out on Instagram, praising staff for their ‘kindness and help.’

This week’s repeat admission comes as Idle himself suspects an attack of Gastroenteritis – a nasty bug inflaming both stomach and intestines, typically induced by a viral or bacterial intrusion. The comic took to social media with words of gratitude for the team at Los Angeles’ renowned Cedars-Sinai medical facility.

Writing to fans on Monday (16.05. 25), Eric expressed: “So I’d like to thank all the doctors nurses and staff in the Cedars GI ward for their kindness and help to me today. The second time in three days. I think I’m suffering from Gastroenteritis. I love you people.”

Idle has previously opened up about his brush with mortality. Last year, he frankly confessed that he “shouldn’t be alive”.

He surprised fans when he disclosed a secret battle with pancreatic cancer back in 2019, revealing his operation and the immense fortune he felt at having the disease spotted early. Now relishing “every moment” of life, the 82 year old entertainer acknowledged the profound impact his health scare had during a candid interview with The Times newspaper.

The revelation came in response to being probed how his cancer experience altered him, to which he replied: “Oh, I shouldn’t be alive. I’m a lucky b****** and I enjoy every moment.”

Interestingly, his initial reaction to the ominous diagnosis was one of disbelief, mistaking his consultant’s solemn news for humour due to a coincidental creative project focused on mortality he was working on at the time.

He recounted the misunderstanding: “I had been working on a project called ‘Death: The Musical’ and I asked my doctor which type of cancer I could use to finish off one of my characters. He said, ‘Pancreatic cancer, it can finish people off in three weeks.'”.

Fast forward ten years and following some routine check-ups, it was a fateful blood test result in the hands of that same medic that raised red flags.

The British-born comedian shared a startling reaction to devastating news: “He said, ‘Pancreatic cancer’ and I burst out laughing because I thought he must be joking.”

Brad Pitt’s girlfriend made quite the entrance when she rocked up on the red carpet for the premiere of his F1 flick on Monday. Brad, 61, was promoting the film, in which he plays once prominent racer, Sonny Hayes, in times Square, New York, but all eyes were on his partner, Ines de Ramon, 32.

The jewellery designer looked gorgeous, sporting a see-through white dress with a sheer white top – which left no room for a bra – paired with a feathered skirt, which was cinched with a black belt, chunky platform sandals and a tiny cream quilted Chanel bag. Posing next to her, holding Ines’ hand, Brad looked predictably dapper in a sharp navy suit and white linen shirt. The loved-up couple seemed happy to be photographed as they flashed smiles a mile wide for the hoards of paparazzi.

The pair were joined at the premiere by a whole host of stars from the F1 world, including Lewis Hamilton and F1 boss, Christian Horner and his wife, Spice Girl, Geri.

In one of the snaps from the night, Ines can be seen holding Brad’s face tenderly while he hugged his girlfriend, who he has been linked with since 2022.

Last year, several sources claimed the pair were living together. However, Ines hadnot given up her former residence entirely, according to reports.

“It’s pretty recent,” one insider told People, adding: “They are going very strong and she is happier than ever.”

In 2024, Brad made his red carpet debut with Ines at the British Grand Prix, but was accused of engineering a publicity stunt for his upcoming film.

However, he told GQ magazine: “No, dude, it’s not that calculated. If you’re living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you’re living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.”

Earlier this week on Monday, Brad made a rare family remark amid the estrangement from his children that he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

The Hollywood darlings’ divorce proceedings began in 2016 and following a lengthy battle, was finalised late last year in November.

Brad shares Zahara, 20, Maddox, 23, and Pax, 21 – whom he adopted with Angelina. The former couple also welcomed biological children Shiloh, 19, as well as twins Vivienne and Knox, 16.

While attending the premiere of F1 in Mexico City, Brad briefly opened up on the importance of family during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“No matter the mistake, you just learn from [it] and move on. It’ll lead to the next success,’ he stated.

“When you get to my age, you realise how important it is to surround yourself with the people you love, the people that love you back.”

However, there were issues for some customers. One four-star review reads: “Love the material, the cut, pockets. Personally I would like the V to be 2 inches higher but for someone younger it may not be an issue.

“Had a hard time selecting pattern and settled on the least loudest pink green tile. Wish it came in solid colours and I also hope for a long sleeve version.”

Someone else wrote: “I am in love! The jersey fabric is heavier but that’s what I like about it because it doesn’t feel cheap especially for the price. Love the pattern, style – pockets are a huge plus. I am 128 lbs, 5’4″ and got the size 8, feel it’s true to size.”

During a candid chat on a podcast, Meghan Markle has revealed how she is teaching her kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to understand value and money with a unique hobby

Meghan Markle has revealed how she is teaching her two children, Archie and Lilibet, an important lesson through one of their favourite hobbies. During a candid conversation on the Aspire by Emma Grede podcast, the Duchess of Sussex spoke about her kids in a rare admission, after actively trying to keep the youngster’s lives private.

When asked by host Emma if Meghan had begun having conversations with her kids about money, Meghan shared an insight to their family life in California by admitting they sometimes set up a farmer’s market stand for the kids to sell their own harvests.

Meghan explained that at their home in Montecito, they have a vegetable garden that they tend to as a family, as Meghan said: “Gardening is really great for children. It teaches them patience, it teaches them to value and appreciate their food. So you start from seed and wait and watch it grow.”

She went on to say that once their veggie patch has produced some goods, Archie and Lilibet make some pocket money by selling their produce. Meghan explained: “Well now do you want to sell your harvest? Do you want to share it with our community? And also, what do you want to do with those funds once you have them?”

“So really starting to understand, as they’re learning counting and numbers, that there is a cost and a price for things, and I think that’s key for children to understand that. Especially children who are very lucky to have a home that has privilege, you need to know that.”

“It’s just like manners and taking care of the things around you, there’s a value on things, and for my husband and I, it’s really important that they understand that.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Meghan appeared to make a subtle dig at the royal family as host Emma asked the Duchess about how her fame makes her instantly recognisable.

She tells Meghan: “I wanted to ask you a little bit about the public narrative, because when you sign up to be an actress, you know that people are going to start recognising you, they’re going to start speaking to you on the street. But that’s very different from what you have now.”

Meghan quickly replies: “It is, Emma! It’s very different” before laughing. Emma follows up with: “If you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything that you would do differently?”

To which Meghan says: “Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth.” The duchess gave no specifics about to whom she was referring, but later refers to a ‘lie’ told eight years ago.

She adds: “You go through those chapters and you do a lot of work. You do a lot of selfwork and go, what’s the why? It’s happening for a reason.” She continues: “My dear friend Serena [Williams], who I’m sure you know.. she says a lie can’t live forever. Eight years is a long time but not forever.”

Eight years ago, in 2017, Meghan was recently engaged to Prince Harry and preparing for her new life as a senior member of the royal family. It was the same year that Meghan first met Prince William and Kate, and seemingly marked the beginning of the downfall of the relationship between William and Harry.

Huge comedian set for UK return after 10 years and teases ‘truths’

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article35406499.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_Tokio-Hotel-Performs-At-Eventim-Apollo-London.jpg

An iconic movie star and comedian from the United States is coming back to the United Kingdom to entertain fans for the first time in almost a decade

A huge stateside star is set to return to the UK for the first time in almost a decade. The intimate experience will see a UK audience able to grill the comedian-turned-actress for the first time in nearly 10 years – and they’ve been told to expect “stories, laughs and truths”.

Iconic Sister Act actress Whoopi Goldberg, 69, heads back to the UK in September. A release for her two-date tour says: “Audiences are invited to experience an intimate evening with the multi-award-winning actress, author, and producer as she reflects on her extraordinary career and trailblazing journey, delivered with her trademark wit, warmth and razor-sharp candour.”

It also revealed fans will get a chance to act the star questions in a Q&A segment, calling the experience “a rare and unmissable opportunity to witness a living legend up close”.

Speaking ahead of the events in London and Cardiff, the host of stateside lunchtime chat show The View said: “I’ve always loved performing for UK audiences.

“I can’t wait to take the stage at these two incredible venues and share some stories, some laughs, and maybe even a little truth.”

As well as her roles on screen, Whoopi is also a bestselling author, producer, successful entrepreneur and noted humanitarian.

In recent months, Whoopi’s comments on The View have led to a number of controversial moments. And at this year’s Oscars, the star was jokingly told to “behave” by her daughter.

Whoopi gave Oscar aides a fierce side-eye on the red carpet when told to “move over further to the right”. In response her daughter Alex Martin quipped, “I’m bad,” prompting Goldberg to humorously retort, “I’m a good girl”, according to lip reader NJ Hickling. The playful banter continued with Alex warning, “Hey behave, you’re on camera,” leading to laughter between the two.

And last year some of her followers were only just realising her name is actually her stage name. After decades in the industry, some fans were stunned to realise Whoopi’s real name is Caryn Elanie Johnson.

In her memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me, the Oscar winner shared the truth behind her unusual stage name after she had received countless questions about it throughout her long career.

She wrote: “Once I started getting parts in plays, I wanted a name that sounded more interesting. Caryn Johnson wasn’t it. Some people at the Rep called me Whoopi because I would sometimes let loose with a fart. I added ‘Cush-ione’ to it, with a French pronunciation.

“Then, I got a review written by journalist Welton Jones. It was a good one, so I sent it to my mother. Later, when we talked on the phone, she said, ‘What is this Whoopi Cushione?’

Her mum suggested changing Cushione to Goldberg to create a ‘more substantial name’ so she’d be taken more seriously by the industry.”
