Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex-wife, Tish, has broken her silence after it was revealed that the Achy Breaky Heart star is dating Liz Hurley. The unlikely couple sent the showbiz world into meltdown when model, Liz, shared a snap of them kissing on Instagram – tagged with a love heart – on Easter Sunday.

Famous friends and fans of the couple quickly rushed to the comments section to congratulate Liz, 59, and Billy, 63, on their romance. Unsurprisingly, Tish, 57, who divorced the country star in 2022, was not among them – but she has taken to social media since the sizzling snap was posted.

Taking to her Instagram page, she simply shared a clip – strewn with love hearts – of the daughter she shares with Billy, Noah, out in a sun-soaked garden, popping a golden Easter egg into a blue felt bag.

Mum-of-five Tish and Billy Ray officially divorced in April 2022 and share daughters Miley, 32, and Noah, 25, and son Braison, 30. Billy Ray also adopted Tish’s daughter Brandi, 37, and son Trace, 36, from her previous marriage.

Tish is now married to Prison Break star, actor Dominic Purcell – who briefly dated Noah – in an ceremony in Malibu in August 2023 with superstar, Miley, as her maid of honour.

Daughter Noah and son Braison were notably absent from the nuptials, sparking speculation of a feud at the time. Billy Ray reportedly also has a strained relationship with his kids – with Trace Cyrus posting an open letter to his dad earlier this year to say the family were “genuinely worried” about him.

Claiming the Did I Forget to Pray? star had pushed his kids away, Trace wrote: “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever.

“I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life.

“Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away.

He added: “Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though. “

Billy’s kids are yet to comment on his new relationship with Liz. However, the actress’ son Damian has. He appears to have given his seal of approval to the union as he replied to the snap of his mum and her new man with a celebration and a heart emoji.

Pope Francis has died: A step-by-step guide to what happens in next days

Pope Francis has died aged 88, the Vatican announced on April 21, 2025.

His death came one day after a brief appearance to thousands gathered in St Peter’s Square for the Vatican’s open-air Easter Sunday mass.

Here is more about Pope Francis, and what happens now:

Who was Pope Francis?

Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 17, 1936.

He later chose Francis as his name to honour Saint Francis of Assisi.

Francis was declared pope on March 13, 2013, becoming the leader of the world’s 1. 4 billion Roman Catholics  after his predecessor, Benedict XVI, became the first pope to resign in 600 years.

Francis challenged the conventions followed by pontiffs before him. He pushed for a more transparent Vatican, connected to the concerns of common people and engaged with other faiths.

During Christmas address in 2024, Francis denounced the grave humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying: “May there be a ceasefire, may the hostages be released and aid be given to the people worn out by hunger and by war”.

He would repeat his message of concern for Gaza in his address at the Easter mass, a day before his death. Briefly appearing on the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica on Sunday, he condemned the “deplorable humanitarian situation” caused by Israel’s 18-month war on the Palestinian territory.

Francis also assembled an advisory council of cardinals and launched a probe into the Vatican Bank, which was accused of money laundering and corruption.

He promised to investigate church abuses, establishing the first papal commission to look into that. He also launched a global system for Catholics to report cases of abuse and cover-ups.

But critics accused the pontiff of opposing reforms that would have addressed the problem of sexual abuse by clerics.

What was the cause of the Pope’s death?

Pope Francis suffered severe complications in recent weeks after a bout of double pneumonia for which he spent five weeks in hospital.

He was admitted to hospital in Rome  on February 14 for bronchitis, which he had been diagnosed with eight days prior but he  continued to preside over general audiences and an outdoor mass.

He was released on March 23, with expectations that he would resume his duties gradually.

What do we know about the funeral, the burial and the next days?

The pope’s passing marks the beginning of nine days of mourning called the Novendiale.

His body is dressed in papal vestments and placed in St Peter’s Basilica for public viewing. Hundreds and thousands of people line up to pay their respects.

Here is what typically happens after a pope passes away.

Location and timing

The funeral will likely take place in St Peter’s Square, with a service led by the dean of the College of Cardinals. The current dean is Giovanni Battista Re, 91.

Who attends

Dignitaries from all over the world attend the funeral mass for the pontiffs.

Pope John Paul II died in April 2005, his funeral becoming one of the largest gatherings of world leaders in history.

The attendees included four kings, five queens and about 70 presidents and prime ministers.

In total, approximately four million people attended the funeral.

Funeral mass

Daily prayer services and requiem masses will be held in Catholic churches worldwide and at St Peter’s Basilica.

Burial

The burial typically takes place four to six days after the death.

Previous popes have been buried in three coffins, cypress, lead and elm, placed one inside the other.

However, Francis wishes to be buried in one coffin made of wood and zinc. Francis’s predecessor was also buried with a paper scroll, or a rogito, which retells their life and papacy.

Popes are traditionally buried in the Vatican Grottoes on the lower level of Saint Peter’s Basilica. While not all popes are buried there, nearly 100 are, including Francis’s predecessor, Benedict XVI, who passed away in 2022.

However, Francis told an interview in 2023 that he wants to be buried in Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome’s Esquilino.

Only seven popes have been buried here, the last one being Clement IX in 1669.

The election of the new pope

After the death of a pope, the Vatican enters a transitional period called the sede vacante or interregnum, where power is handed over to the College of Cardinals, but no major decisions are made until the papacy is filled.

About 15-20 days after the pope’s death, cardinals under the age of 80 convene at the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, which is sealed off, to elect the new pontiff through a secret ballot.

Voting takes place in up to four rounds a day until a candidate wins two-thirds of the vote. If there is no decision after 33 rounds of voting, the top two candidates face off in a run-off vote.

Ballots are burned, and for every unsuccessful vote, black smoke is released from the Sistine Chapel.

Hurt Wales coach Lynn needs ‘good pre-season’

Women’s Six Nations: Italy v Wales

Venue: Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi Date: Saturday, 26 April Kick-off: 12:15 BST

Wales’ new head coach Sean Lynn is not used to losing and when he does it cuts him deeply.

A proud Welshman, Lynn came into the top job after securing a third successive Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) title with Gloucester-Hartpury.

During those three leagues seasons his side lost only six games, but his transition to Test rugby has shown it to be an entirely different ball game.

After a closely fought defeat by Scotland in the opening round of the Women’s Six Nations, Lynn saw his side blown away by the power of England, France and Ireland.

Speaking after Sunday’s 40-14 loss to Ireland at Rodney Parade, Lynn’s disappointment was clear to see.

“Really hurt, the players are hurt, the staff are hurt,” he said.

“But look, this is an Ireland side that beat New Zealand and we have got to start turning pressure into points. “

Wales were again outmuscled in key areas of the game as they missed 28 tackles and conceded 18 penalties.

Expectations on Wales in this year’s championship were always going to be measured given the limited time Lynn had with the players.

But they may be a little higher come the Rugby World Cup, which kicks-off in England this summer.

Lynn is confident he can get Wales firing for their tournament opener against Scotland on 23 August. The players report for camp in the first week of June.

“I need a good pre-season with them, put my stamp on it, just making sure that we’re training with intensity and accuracy,” Lynn said.

“I just need to make sure that we are a 60-70 minute team and are going to be a side that stays in the fight for as long as we can.

Shameless cast now – Coronation Street, rehab and ‘difficult’ costar divorce

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article32438850.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/1_Shameless.jpg

More than 10 years on since Shameless’ dramatic finale episode aired on Channel 4, we take a look at what the likes of Debbie, Ian, Lip and Frank are up to now…

Cast of the original hit show Shameless

It’s been over a decade since viewers said goodbye to Shameless, Channel 4’s unforgettable dramedy set on the fictional Chatsworth estate in Manchester. Bursting onto screens in 2004, Shameless quickly cemented itself as a standout series of the 2000s, kickstarting several major acting careers along the way.

Created by Burnley’s own Paul Abbott, the show was a raw, hilarious, and often shocking portrayal of working-class life in Britain. Its impact wasn’t limited to the UK either — the American adaptation also found major success. Since The Jockey poured its last pint, the world has changed dramatically — and so have the lives of the cast who made Chatsworth come alive.

The Mirror catches up with the former residents of Chatsworth, revealing where they’ve ended up — from Hollywood red carpets to reality TV showdowns…

Frank Gallagher – David Threlfall

David Threlfall as Frank Gallagher
Classically trained David is nothing like feckless Frank(Image: Daily Mirror)

He was the alcoholic, chain-smoking, feckless father of the pack who abandoned his five kids to move in with his neurotic sex fiend of a girlfriend, Sheila Jackson. Often found quoting Shakespeare in between wetting himself, Frank’s go-to pose was propping up the bar at The Jockey in his infamous parka.

Off-screen, however, actor David Threlfall, now 71, couldn’t be more different. A far cry from his chaotic alter ego, David is a classically trained actor with an impressive resume. He’s appeared in major films like Patriot Games alongside Harrison Ford, and had roles in acclaimed series such as Cutting It and Spooks. A frequent performer with the Royal Shakespeare Company, David’s talents shine brightest on the stage.

Most recently, David played George Parker in Funny Woman, where he starred alongside Gemma Arterton in the adaptation of the book by Nick Hornby. The story follows a beauty queen leaving Blackpool to make a name for herself on TV in London during the swinging sixties

Away from the world of television, David has two children with wife and fellow actor Brana Bajic. Intriguingly, non-smoker David has also previously told the Mirror he has nothing in common with his Shameless alter-ego.

Highlighting one key difference during the 2010 interview, he explained: “I can’t imagine getting up in the morning and taking a drink. My body doesn’t take more than four pints. I was doing a scene yesterday where he was drinking cough medicine. He’s lost.”

Fiona Gallagher – Anne-Marie Duff

Fiona (Anne-Marie Duff) and Steve (James McAvoy)
Fiona and Steve ran off for a new life in Amsterdam(Image: CHANNEL FOUR)

Fiona was Frank’s long-suffering eldest daughter who he left in charge of raising her siblings after their mum Monica ran off with another woman. But the part-time teaching assistant got her Cinderella story when hunky posh boy Steve McBride (James McAvoy) fell head over heels for her at a nightclub.

Unfortunately, the fairy tale came to a crushing end in series two when Steve’s secret side gig as a car thief and heroin dealer came to light, forcing him to flee the estate. He eventually returned for Fiona and convinced her to start a new life in Amsterdam where they got hitched.

And in real life, Anne-Marie, 54, and James, 46, also fell in love, marrying in secret in 2006 and welcoming son Brandon in 2010. But six years later they announced their divorce, with actress Anne-Marie branding it a ‘profound, difficult experience.’

James has since married his second wife Lisa Liberati, who he met on the set of psychological horror film Split Although their romantic relationship has now ended, Anne-Marie has insisted: “There’s a lot of goodwill between us.”

“And we do still laugh all the time. I cannot imagine a time in my life when he doesn’t make me belly laugh,” she told the Telegraph. “We love being parents and he’s someone I’ll respect, always.”

After quitting Shameless in series two, Anne-Marie’s star continued to rise. She went on to star in Nowhere Boy, Suffragette, and Before I Go to Sleep alongside Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth. Anne-Marie has worked on some of the most talked-about TV shows of the past few years, including Sex Education, The Salisbury Poisonings, and Bad Sisters, which earned her a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress in 2023.

Hailing from a rich family of medical professionals, Steve was also set to become a doctor but quit medical school two years in. After bowing out with Fiona in series two, actor James’ career blew up with lead roles in blockbusters such as Atonement, X-Men, and The Last King of Scotland.

Following his divorce from Anne-Marie, Scottish-born James embarked on a relationship with production assistant Lisa, who he married privately, confirming the wedding had taken place during a 2022 interview with The Guardian. Last month, James was recognised for his outstanding contribution to cinema by his home city.

The actor was presented with the Cinema City Honorary Award by the Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) in March 2025. Speaking outside the GFT, he said: “It’s humbling, it’s a massive honour. I never thought for a second when I started acting at the age of 16 that I would even get another job, let alone be here, 29 years later, getting a lovely award from my home city. So yeah, massively humbling, and it’s quite sentimental as well.”

Debbie Gallagher – Rebecca Ryan

Rebecca Ryan as Debbie Gallagher
Rebecca Ryan has appeared in both Casualty and Doctors

Debbie – in Frank’s words – was sent by God but you’ve got to check your change. Like her big sister Fiona, Debbie was saddled with mother duties before leaving the estate to join the army in series six. Rebecca, 33, went on to star in the BBC drama Doctors and more recently played Gem Dean in Casualty but quit in 2018.

In 2021, Manchester-born Rebecca joined the cast of Coronation Street as Underworld PA Lydia Chambers. After causing plenty of trouble between Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) – including shoving Adam off a balcony – Lydia left the cobbles in 2022.

In January 2025, revealed she is pregnant with her second child with her husband Dan Acraman in a sweet Instagram post. Her news comes nearly two years after she welcomed her first baby.

Phillip ‘Lip’ Gallagher – Jody Latham

Lip (Jody Latham )
Lip was known for his back chat(Image: Channel 4)

Never referred to by his actual name on account of being ‘a bit of a gobsh*te’, Lip had a baby with Mandy McGuire before heading off to university to embrace his studious side.

After leaving Shameless behind, Jody, 42, joined co-star Rebecca Ryan in Waterloo Road before moving on to The Tudors, Hollyoaks, Holby City, and Doctors. In 2009 he was the first person to be kicked off reality show Hell’s Kitchen after a series of barneys with the other contestants.

Jody has embarked upon a very different career path in recent years, and now works in his family construction business. It would seem that his new direction has been very lucrative, as he previously showed off his lime green £200K Lamborghini on Instagram.

In 2020, the actor-turned-entrepreneur opened up about his mental health struggles during an appearance on James English’s Anything Goes podcast. He revealed: “I did a stint in rehab – I’ve never spoken about this publicly. It wasn’t for me – but I learned a lot from it.

“My substance abuse is minimal, I do drink sometimes, not every day and not a lot, but because I was going through anxiety and business worries, there was an opportunity to go and refresh.

“It was exhaustion as well. I took a week out, it was going to be a month, but I took a week.”

Ian Gallagher – Gerard Kearns

He later learned he wasn’t Frank’s son(Image: Daily Record)

Ian led a secret double life as the underage lover of married corner shop owner Kash Karib (Chris Bisson) – who also happened to be his boss.

It later emerged he wasn’t actually Frank’s child but rather the result of one of Monica’s affairs, and he made a swift exit after accidentally killing Joe Pritchard in series seven. Gerard, 39, has since starred in the BAFTA-winning The Mark of Cain and the crime drama Trespass Against Us, also starring Michael Fassbender.

He has been married to wife Sarah since December 2017 and they have two sons, Aiden James Kearns and James Aiden Kearns.

Veronica Fisher – Maxine Peake

Fiery Veronica was Fiona's best mate

As Fiona’s feisty best mate, Veronica was a regular in the Gallaghers’ kitchen – when she wasn’t getting hot and heavy with her other half, Kev. But their constant lovemaking took on a more serious tone when it emerged they were struggling to conceive.

And life cruelly imitated art, with Maxine, 50, and her art director partner Pawlo Wintoniuk suffering three rounds of IVF and two miscarriages before deciding enough was enough.

“I had three rounds but that was enough for me, I was done. It was so difficult physically and emotionally,” she previously told Radio 4. “You are absolutely pumped full of hormones, you’re tired, and I was working at the same time.

“You don’t have that luxury of taking time off. You have to find places where you can inject when you’re on a night shoot. In a grubby portable toilet, panicking that you’re going to infect yourself.”

The actress has since played Myra Hindley in See No Evil: The Moors Murders and starred in The Theory of Everything, Dinnerladies, and Black Mirror.

Kev Ball – Dean Lennox Kelly

Kev (Dean Lennox Kelly)
Veronica couldn’t keep her hands off Kev(Image: Unknown)

Barman Kev and his randy wife Veronica were famed for their steamy scenes, but for actor Dean, lying naked and spread-eagled on leopardskin sheets was a low point.

He told the Argus: “That was definitely the most embarrassing moment. It was a very cold day and there were five people in the room, all of them men.

“There was another bad episode at the start of the second series when Kev had a crush on his reading teacher and I had to pretend to masturbate a few times on camera.

Actor Dean is now married with two kids

“That was really embarrassing because it was a female director and she was kind of giving me notes about what my position should be like. Trust me, lady, I’m doing it right.”

Dean, 49, went on to star in Frankie, Jamestown, and Married, Single, Other. You might also remember him as William Shakespeare in a 2007 episode of Doctor Who.

More recently, Dean has worked on shows such as Brassic and Shadow and Bone. He has two children with his folk singer and writer wife Eugenie.

Sheila Jackson – Maggie O’Neill

Sheila was utterly devoted to Frank(Image: Campbell Mark)

Frank’s girlfriend Sheila buried her first husband in her back garden after years of domestic abuse. Agoraphobic, anxious, and with a penchant for sex toys – for reasons unknown she was devoted to her beer-swilling boyfriend.

Before joining the show Maggie O’Neill, 62, was already a big star having appeared in Hollywood blockbuster Gorillas in the Mist and the music video for Simply Red’s Holding Back the Years.

She went on to play Max and Jack Branning’s sister Suzy in EastEnders in 2008 before leaving after six months amid rumours of a feud with co-star Samantha Womack. Neither have ever commented on the claims. More recently, Maggie has made appearances in Call The Midwife, Casualty, and Two Doors Down.

Karen Jackson – Rebecca Atkinson

Actress Rebecca Atkinson as Karen in Shameless
Karen had a seriously naughty streak(Image: Channel 4)

Sheila’s wayward daughter Karen infamously performed a sex act on Lip and his brother Ian under the kitchen table before embarking on a forbidden affair with Frank.

Eventually, Karen calmed down and took over The Jockey with her new husband, Jamie Maguire. And off-screen she found love with her co-star Ben Bratt, who played Joe Pritchard, with the couple welcoming a child in 2016.

Now 41, Rebecca has starred in a wide variety of TV shows including Life on Mars, Holby City, Coronation Street, and Doctors.

Rebecca Atkinson attends the British Soap Awards at Media City on May 18, 2013 in Manchester, England.

But it is Karen who will always hold the biggest place in her heart.

“It was such a huge part of my life, I grew up on that show. I was there for part of my teens and all through my 20s,” she told the Sunday Post.

Article continues below

“It’s definitely part of what’s made me what I am. There’s a part of Karen in me. It was an amazing time in my life and I met Ben on the show too so I wouldn’t have my little boy either if it wasn’t for Shameless.”

Williams hopeful eye surgery will prolong career

Halo World Championship

Venue: Crucible Theatre, Sheffield Dates: 19 April to 5 May

Three-time world champion Mark Williams hopes eye surgery in June will help to extend his snooker career.

Williams, who turned 50 in March, said last month that his “eyes had completely gone” and that his eyesight had “deteriorated quite badly” in the previous six months.

Speaking to BBC Sport after his first-round win over Wu Yize at the World Championship, the Welshman said: “I’m seeing about three or four [balls] at a time.

“I’ve tried playing with contacts but it’s very difficult and really uncomfortable in my eyes.

Williams won the Champion of Champions title in November, two months after reaching the final of the Saudi Arabia Masters, and is ranked sixth in the world.

He required all of his years of experience to get over the winning line against Chinese qualifier Wu, who produced some stunning scoring in the first session and pushed Williams hard before the left-hander eventually wrapped up a 10-8 victory.

“It’s good for me [to be tested] because I finished off really strongly,” said Williams, who will play Iran’s Hossein Vafaei in round two. “I potted a couple of long ones and made a frame-winning break in the last frame.

“It’s in the tank, it’s been in the tank all season. I’ve won a tournament, I got to the final of another big one and lost a few first-rounders.

“You just want to win in the first round here because if you lose on the Saturday or Sunday, you don’t really feel like you’ve been in the tournament because it doesn’t really start until the second week.

David Beckham attempts to silence Brooklyn feud rumours as he breaks silence

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article34836053.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/2_GettyImages-1172012790.jpg

The family are yet to address speculation of a falling out, but David Beckham yesterday shared a telling post amid the rumoured feud with his son Brooklyn Beckham

There’s tension speculation in the Beckham household (Image: Photo by David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty Images for Hugo Boss)

Dad David Beckham did his best to quieten claims of a ‘growing rift’ between his eldest son Brooklyn and members of the family.

The issues are believed to be centred around his sibling Romeo’s girlfriend Kim Turnbull, who reportedly dated Brooklyn nearly nine years ago. It has got so deep that sources say there are genuine fears Brooklyn may even sit out his dad’s milestone celebration next month because of it.

It is said to have caused problems with his parents David, 49, and Victoria, but the football icon took to his Instagram to share an unseen photo of his first born following reports of strain in the famous clan. Devoted dad David has appeared to try and squash any rumours of fraction in his family as he marked Easter on social media.

The father-of-four shared a series of throwback snaps of his children celebrating the occasion over the years. David included a black and white photo of Brooklyn when he was six or seven as he clutched onto a large chocolate Easter bunny. The former England ace also shared similar snaps of his other children Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Rumours of a rift in the family came after Brooklyn and wife Nicola Petlz skipped a number of family gatherings and David’s landmark birthday may be another family occasion to add to the list. Nicola and Brooklyn failed to attend David’s pre-birthday bash in Miami last month, which included guests such as football legend Lionel Messi and former supermodel Cindy Crawford.

Neither Brooklyn or Nicola publicly wished Victoria a happy 51st birthday last Thursday, which is highly unusual when compared to previous years. Brooklyn and Nicola allegedly believe Romeo’s new girlfriend Kim does not have the right intentions when it comes to dating him. However, Victoria is said to adore Kim and Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel.

In another twist, neither Victoria, who is known for using social media to praise her children and celebrate milestones, or David, commented on Brooklyn and Nicola’s third wedding anniversary. And according to reports, Cruz and Romeo failed to congratulate the couple as well. Instead, Brooklyn shared a picture of a bouquet of flowers sent to them from his in-laws Nelson Peltz and Claudia Heffner.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source said: “David adores his sons and he is so, so proud of how close they are. He loves having a happy family that loves spending time together. Family is everything to him. He is a working class boy who grew up with strong connections to his grandparents and parents, and he loves nothing more than to see his boys, and Harper, being so close.

“While the location will be perfect and stunning, what he wants most is for his family to be around him, happily getting along. Right now, though, things aren’t great. All everyone around them hopes is that they can mend any issues in time for the big day – for David. “

Another friend revealed: “It would absolutely destroy David if any fall-outs carry on and become big deals. It would be the best birthday present ever for David to have all of his children and their partners happily having a wonderful time together. That’s what really puts a smile on his face. “
