After going viral for her infamous street interview, Hannah Welch rose to fame before disappearing, but now it appears she is back in the public eye, ready to work on her next project.

You’ve probably heard of “Haw Tuah” if you’ve been using the internet at any point during the past two years. Haliey Welch coined the phrase as part of a lengthy interview she conducted on the street in June of that year.

Since then, she’s shot to fame and come crashing down again after she was embroiled in a slew of scandals. After the string of poor choices, Haliey opted to step back from the public eye and has not been seen since – until recently.

The viral star recently restarted her career with a cameo on new Disney+ show Chad Powers, seen just minutes into the first episode. So here, we take a look at the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl’s dramatic rise, fall and potential resurgence…

Early life

In June of 2024, Haliey’s rise to fame was revealed in an interview with TikTok stars Tim &amp and Dee TV.

After a boozy night out, many women made confessions they probably wouldn’t have made otherwise, which dominated the interview.

In the notorious clip, Haliey was asked what causes a man to “go crazy” when hot and steamy. She responded, “You gotta hawk tuah and spit on that thing,” and she did so right away.

Hawk Tuah, whose delivery and Southern accent quickly became a meme online, mimics the sound of someone clearing their throat with spit.

fame in a vivacious way

Haliey quickly seized on the opportunity after the video’s uploadation into internet fame. She established her own brand and quickly established her own brand, which she later sold to other people.

She also had a podcast called Hawk Tuah, which she co-produced with Jake Paul’s media company. After she blew up, she responded to the media with the show.

In the podcast’s trailer, Haliey stated, “I’m having actual conversations with the coolest guests.”

However, it wasn’t very long-lasting. After attempting to produce weekly episodes, Haliey decided to stop working on the project because it was so difficult to film the podcast in Los Angeles each week and return to her home in the Midwestern US.

Downfall

Haliey’s failure to enter the cryptocurrency market, which some claim cost them their entire life savings, was the worst issue she encountered.

According to Haliey, who made the announcement in December of 2024, she had created the memecoin $HAWK in response to the moment when she became famous.

However, the coin never received a US government registration. The price was actually crashing within hours of the cryptocurrency’s launch.

Fans would criticize Haliey because she had a lot of money invested in the scheme, but she would not help at all.

In one hilarious cockup, Haliey leapt onto a Space on X to try to calm the public’s nerves, promising to solve the issue.

Fans were ecstatic, but after enduring constant pressure, Haliey simply gave up and said, “I’m going to bed, and I’ll see you all tomorrow.”

Reclaiming fame?

After going offline for a while, Haliey decided to resume her online career by streaming on Twitch, a dedicated livestream platform.

Her most recent resurgence came in the October debut of Disney+ hit Chad Powers.

Yemen government, Houthis agree to exchange thousands of prisoners

According to the United Nations, Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Houthi group have reached a deal to free detainees, with officials from both sides estimating the figure to be close to 3, 000.

The UN envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said the prisoner swap agreement came after nearly two weeks of negotiations in Muscat, Oman’s capital, to end the government’s 2014 conflict with the Houthis.

Grundberg called the agreement a “positive and meaningful step” and said it will help alleviate Yemen’s detainees’ suffering and those of their families.

According to him, “effective implementation will require continued cooperation and cooperation between the parties, coordinated regional support, and sustained efforts to build on this progress toward further releases.”

In a statement on X, an official from the Houthi delegation in Muscat stated in a statement that “we signed an agreement today with the other party to implement a large-scale prisoner exchange deal involving 1, 700 of our prisoners in exchange for 1, 200 of our prisoners, including seven Saudis and 23 Sudanese.”

According to the AFP news agency, Majed Fadhail, a member of the government delegation, “thousands” of war prisoners will be released in the new exchange, according to the AFP news agency.

According to Fadhail, two of the seven Saudi nationals are pilots for the air force.

Tens of thousands of people have died as a result of the government’s and the Houthis’ war, which has largely been frozen since 2022, making one of the worst humanitarian disasters in history.

Key sorry for ‘20%’ England in Ashes

Rob Key, England’s director of cricket, expressed his “gutted, disappointed, and sorry” for their “220% capacity” in the Ashes campaign.

England have lost their first three Test matches in Australia, extending their winless streak to 18 matches, and they haven’t won a series there since 2010-11.

England lost the series in 11 days of cricket, which was touted as a fantastic opportunity to resurrect an Australia team that had been struggling, and will now face a 5-0 clean sweep in Melbourne and Sydney.

The fact that we’ve shown so much more than we can show is what frustrates and depresses me the most.

You’re trying to do what you’re trying to do in these positions because we have some excellent players who haven’t played at their full potential.

“I don’t believe we’ve always given them the best chance to do that,” he said.

Former England and Kent pitcher Key said in a lengthy interview: “

Following a 4-0 defeat on the previous tour of Australia, Key assumed the position of director of cricket in 2022.

He appointed McCullum and Stokes to lead and lead the Test side, respectively.

Although the Australian won the 2022 T20 World Cup, Matthew Mott was fired in 2024 when he took over the white-ball teams.

A T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka early in the year will make matters worse for New Zealander McCullum because he now leads all England’s teams, and Key will also have to decide his future.

Stokes and McCullum have stated that they want to continue in their capacities, but England’s leaders will be under increased scrutiny if they suffer a humiliating 5 – 0 clean sweep of Australia.

Key, who played 15 Test matches for England between 2002 and 2005, described Ben as doing an excellent job as captain.

Because this is difficult at all, I see a dressing room that still follows the captain and the coach.

The England and Wales Cricket Board will make a decision regarding whether it is trying to “rip it all up and start over,” or whether it is focusing more on evolution than total revolution.

In Australia, three previous England teams were defeated 5-0. On Boxing Day, the fourth Test will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of a predetermined crowd of 100, 000 spectators.

For the holidays, thousands of England supporters will visit Australia.

Key expressed regret to everyone who has supported and traveled this journey with us throughout.

I don’t have the largest vocabulary, I say. Other than that I’m completely disgusted for what we did, I find it difficult to say.

“It’s crucial that we go out there and perform a show that will be as successful as we can for the people who have come.”

Before the first Test, several former players questioned England’s preparation for this series.

The visitors had one warm-up game against the England Lions at Lilac Hill, a club ground where the series opener was held in vastly different circumstances than Perth Stadium.

A white-ball tour of New Zealand in October, a series Key claimed he did not want to “write off,” made matters worse for England.

McCullum has since admitted that the England management’s preparation was incorrect despite their best efforts to defend it. Additionally, the ECB and Cricket Australia have begun discussions about providing minimum preparation standards for upcoming Ashes series.

England requested a warm-up at Perth’s historic Waca ground, but was later told it was inaccessible.

It’s difficult to refute the claim that it was accurate, Key said.

The answer is not “yes,” but we still had to be better with what we did despite the fact that I would have played four games against state teams – I don’t believe that is possible in this day and age.

When they took over, Stokes and McCullum gave England’s Test cricket a new lease of life.

England’s form has stagnated for the past 18 months, but there is still a lot of hope for a series that will be fiercely test-driven in Australia.

Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, and Steve Smith, all of whom were hurt on the home side, raised those hopes.

Instead, Australia has kept the Ashes in place since 2017-18.

Key remarked, “Sometimes, we make foolish decisions as middle-class players.”

When the pressure is really high, “We have to try to equip them to make better decisions.”

Players can challenge the directions given by Stokes and McCullum, according to Key, and England is not confined to one particular style of play.

We’ve never discussed “we’ve got to score quick, this pitch is five and over,” said Key, “One of the problems with the Bazball narrative is me and Brendon.”

We’re attempting to create a place where people can maximize their potential before choosing the style they want.

Newcastle seek ‘clarification’ over non-penalty

Professional Game Match Officials Limited is “seeking clarification” from Newcastle United regarding a penalty appeal that Chelsea received.

After Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah pushed Anthony Gordon to the ground, Newcastle were denied a “stonewall” penalty, according to head coach Eddie Howe in Saturday’s 2-2 Premier League draw at St James’ Park.

Referee Andy Madley’s decision to not give a spot kick was upheld by the video assistant referee (VAR).

The Premier League Match Centre stated that Chalobah was “deemed to be side-to-side in a shielding action and the ball within playing distance.”

For comment, contact has been made to the PGMOL, the body responsible for all Premier League games.

Newcastle had a lead at the time, but Chelsea’s Joao Pedro equalized just two minutes later after Malick Thiaw had slipped.

No team has lost more points this season than Newcastle from winning positions in the Premier League, a total of 13.

They travel to Manchester United on December 26 and are 11th in the table, having only won once away from home.

Howe said, “My glass is essentially half full.” “I’m aware that everyone else may have a different perspective, but I think our situation is improving.

We have been moving in the right direction, but we still need to work together to become the team we ultimately want to be, and that means consistently succeeding.
