New Zealand openers break Test records against West Indies

West Indies 420 all out: Hodge 123 and 43-0

Tom Latham and Devon Conway set the record for the first Test innings innings that the Kiwis scored with a century-score against the West Indies.

In the third and final Test of the series, Latham and Conway added 227 and scored 137 and 101, respectively, while Conway and Latham added 100 and 100 respectively.

The pair combined for 515 runs overall, which is a record for an opening pair’s total in a Test match, with 323 in the first inning.

Conway also became the 10th batter to record a double-ath and 100 in the same game.

Before Latham and Conway once more went to the crease, the Windies had been out for 420, which was a 155-point deficit, earlier on day four.

Before declaring they needed 462 to defeat the visitors, New Zealand’s opening batsmen, Kane Williamson (40%), and Rachin Ravindra (46%), helped their side to a 301-run victory.
