A burgundy bag from New Look is available in stores that is popular because it looks much more expensive. The high-street retailer is known for its affordable, trendy pieces, and it has a chance to win back with the Burgundy Leather-Look Weave Shoulder Bag, which resembles a Bottega Veneta piece of art.
However, when shopping online, those looking to sport the similarly named Bottega Veneta’s Sardine Bermuda Bag would have to spend a hefty £8, 510.
Both shoulder bags have a chic woven effect. Elegant gold hardware completes each piece. The bags’ handles are different, as are the closures, both in the designer and New Look versions, which both have hook closures.

The two also differentiate in material – the luxury bag is genuine leather, while New Look opts for a vegan-friendly leather-look. The Vegan Society has approved the high-street piece as completely animal-free.

The bag has received a lot of positive reviews, including a 4.8 out of 5. Among them, one person said: “The perfect everyday bag. Gorgeous bag. Beautiful colour great size for practicality”.
A second wrote: “So beautiful and looks way more expensive”! while a third added: “This is my new favourite bag! The perfect size, “I love the weave effect,”
A fourth impressed shopper said: “Wow this bag is perfect. Amazing quality. Looking expensive”.
A fifth wrote: “I love this bag so much. It’s ideal for enhancing my neutral wardrobe with color. I bought this for a city break recently and it was the perfect size, colour, shape for my trip and went with everything. The zip is also extremely secure and safe.
However, while still pleased with the bag, one shopper said they’d make one change to it. They wished the zip on my work laptop were a little wider, they said.
The product is still a “nice color” despite being “a little smaller than it appears on the model,” according to another comment.

Alternatively, New Look also stocks a different crescent-shaped bag – the Black Cross Body Bag – for £13.99, while Next has the Sling Cross-Body Bag in black, blue, burgundy red, green, leopard, orange or stone for £20.
