Senator Isah Jibrin, the head of the joint committee on customs and tariffs of the National Assembly, has demanded that the 4% Free-On-Board (FOB) charge be implemented right away in order to support the Nigeria Customs Service’s operations.
Senator Jibrin questioned the delay in enforcing the FOB provision during a meeting with Wale Edun, the minister of finance and the coordinating minister of the economy on Monday.
He questioned, “Do we subject something that has been passed into law to further debate or defense?” and responded, “The 4% be put into effect right away because it is law.”
