The Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has asked former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, to call out names of those responsible for the annulment of June 12, 1993, election.
Babangida acknowledged that the late MKO Abiola won the election that he led 32 years ago in a memoir he released last week.
However, Kalu pleaded with him to release a second volume of the memoir to address unresolved issues involving the June 12 election’s annulment.

Because the first edition of Babangida’s book did not fully reveal the realities, I look forward to the second edition. I am aware of what transpired when I was present for the June 12 incident. Kalu urged Bangladeshia to release the names of those responsible for the election declaration.

The former governor of Abia State also demanded that Abiola’s portrait be displayed in the Presidential Villa along with those of other former leaders in order to officially recognize the late president.
He praised former president Muhammadu Buhari’s actions, saying that Abiola had received a posthumous national honor, but that more recognition was required.
