The £31 skincare product can now be purchased for just over £18 at Amazon
The cold weather and central heating can wreak havoc with skin at this time of year, so when beauty expert Nadine Baggott appeared on This Morning sharing tips for beating dry skin, we were all ears. It came as no surprise to our beauty team that one of Nadine’s hero products for beating ‘central heating face’ is none other than the cult classic Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant.
Now, beauty fans can bag a 50ml size of the product on offer at Amazon for just £18.23 down from £31. For those wondering why the sought-after cream is a beauty lover favourite, it helps to alleviate dry and chapped skin.
What’s more, the multi-purpose product might just become the hardest-working item in many a beauty bag, as it can also be used to shape brows, add glow to cheeks, soothe hands, and smooth cuticles and nails.

The beauty expert said the product effectively ‘seals you off from the outside world’ as she hailed it an ‘icon.’ Other tips Nadine has shared for keeping dry winter skin at bay include reducing shower time and temperature, applying body moisturiser to damp skin and switching to richer shower and cleansing oils.
Nadine’s recommendations for banishing dry skin include the £26 Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream from Sephora which helps to restore and strengthen the skin barrier. For more budget friendly options, the beauty presenter also likes the CeraVe Moisturising Cream with Ceramides for Dry Skin which costs just £7 from LookFantastic, and the INKEY List’s Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturiser which normally retails for £18.99, but can currently be purchased for just £14.20 from the same retailer.

Our beauty team are also big fans of Dove’s £7.99 Pro Age Body Butter with ceramide restoring serum which can be shopped at Boots. Also on our cold weather skin radar is the popular £15 Dr Jart+ Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturising Cream which can be purchased from Space NK.
Back to Amazon, and it seems that Nadine isn’t the only fan of Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant. Shoppers on the online marketplace have awarded it an impressive review score of 4.5 out of five stars, with the product having been rated over 8,000 times.
One fan said: “Love this product. I’ve been using it for the last 5 years, and it’s wonderful for dry, chapped skin. It makes your skin super soft, and I use it religiously before bed.”
Despite this, it’s worth noting that as skincare preferences vary with each user, one reviewer commented: “Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is thick, soothing and great for dry patches or lips. The scent is a bit strong at first, but you get over it quickly because it works so well. A really handy all‑rounder.”
That being said, the item is also available in a ‘lightly scented’ option for those who dislike strong fragrances in their skincare products. This can be purchased from Boots for £31.
However, other beauty enthusiasts were quick to join Nadine in heaping praise on the original version of the beauty buy at Amazon, with another commenting: “I have been using this product for years and will continue to do so. I absolutely love the scent and feel of this moisturiser.
“This has multi uses and is such good quality and texture. A little goes a long way and I find this lasts me a long time therefore making this good value for money.
They continued: “Highly moisturising and gentle on my skin and does not cause any irritation or issues. Highly recommend and will buy again when needed.”
