N-HYPPADEC Disowns ‘Fake’ Recruitment Notice, Cautions Nigerians Against Fraudsters

A rumored recruitment invitation from the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has been disproven, and it is described as false, misleading, and a calculated attempt to defraud members of the public.

A technical and practical screening exercise allegedly scheduled to take place at the Kainji Hydropower Station in New Bussa, Niger State, was also mentioned in the notice.

N-HYPPADEC made it clear in a statement that the Commission’s head of press and public affairs, Nura Tanko, did not originate the invitation, stressing that no hiring process is currently taking place.

“For the avoidance of doubt, N-HYPPADEC did not send the said invitation. The Commission isn’t currently running any hiring or screening processes, the statement read.

The Commission advised the general public to ignore the deceptive message and advised potential applicants to always check information before applying for any jobs through the official N-HYPPADEC communication channels.

N-HYPPADEC advised Nigerians to keep an eye out for suspicious recruitment claims and contact relevant authorities to protect themselves from scams.
