Ruben Amorim, whose Manchester United side travels to Goodison Park on Saturday to compete with Everton in the Premier League, claimed that David Moyes is doing “a better job than I do.”

Since Amorim took over as manager in November, the Red Devils have only won four of their 14 league games against the Toffees, who have been rejuvenated since Moyes took over as United manager.

Since replacing Sean Dyche, Moyes has won four victories in six games to move the Toffees 13 points clear of the relegation zone. In his previous club West Ham, Moyes won the Europa Conference League.

Such has been Everton’s improvement, they go into the lunchtime game (kick-off 12: 30 GMT) one point and once place above United, who are 15th.

When asked why Everton had a “managerial bounce,” Amorim responded, “Simple thing, David Moyes is doing a better job than I.”

“Then there are the big things like winning one game, two games, and then the belief.” Although the pressure is different, we must value the merit of Everton’s players and especially its coaches.

Tottenham defeat on Sunday added to United’s tally of Premier League defeats this season, which includes 12 defeats in 25 games.

There has been much discussion about United’s problems at both ends of the pitch, with only 28 goals scored up front and just seven clean sheets kept at the back.

Amorim told BBC Sport when asked what is currently going on in his team: “Sometimes you don’t feel better but some games you believe we can play and create situations.” That is a good thing.

Moyes does an “amazing job”

When Dyche was fired in January, the Blues were only one point above the relegation zone and only managed to win three of their 20 league games this year.

However, the team managed to escape danger by a stunning turnaround under the guidance of accomplished Scot Moyes, who has now collected 13 points from six games.

Asked what makes Everton difficult to play, Amorim replied:” Confidence. The way they play, they believe it a lot and are winning games, being really competitive, so it is an amazing job by David Moyes to recover the team.

You sense it, and when you watch the game, you sense the confidence and conviction that are present. It will be a very difficult game.

After replacing the legendary Ferguson at Old Trafford over a decade ago, Moyes only spent eight months there.

“It shows it is a difficult job”, said Amorim. However, we must make an effort to comprehend the past. It is difficult to replace Sir Alex Ferguson because of the person he had at this club.
