Brooklyn Beckham, 26, is thought to be completely cut off from his family after he allegedly issued them a desist letter, urging them not to contact him personally and to go through lawyers instead
Brooklyn Beckham’s estrangement from his famous parents has taken a more serious turn, with reports suggesting the family rift has escalated into the 26-year-old sending a legal letter.
According to reports, there has been an exchange of legal correspondence between Brooklyn and his parents – or more specifically, between their respective legal teams at Schillings and Harbottle & Lewis. It is claimed that Brooklyn made it clear he did not want his parents to contact him directly or make public statements about him on social media.
The move is said to have followed what Brooklyn reportedly viewed as a series of “nasty” briefings about his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. These briefings allegedly included suggestions that Brooklyn was a “hostage” in the marriage and that Nicola was “controlling” him – claims the couple are said to strongly reject.

Sources have suggested that this “talk to my lawyers” stance may explain why Brooklyn appeared to block David and Victoria – as well as brothers Romeo and Cruz – on social media shortly before Christmas. Prior to that, family members had reportedly been viewing and liking Brooklyn’s cooking videos online.
However, it was allegedly felt that this continued interaction contradicted Brooklyn’s wish for his family to leave him and Nicola alone, particularly amid ongoing speculation about tensions behind the scenes.
A source told the Daily Mail last month: “It would be really in the holiday spirit if the Beckhams could just leave them alone for now. Whether someone follows someone else on Insta shouldn’t be a story. Nicola and Brooklyn haven’t been commenting. They just want peace.”
Brooklyn and Nicola have largely remained silent throughout the speculation, choosing not to publicly address rumours of discord or respond to claims about their relationship.
Instead, the couple have continued to focus on their life in the US, sharing glimpses of cooking projects, married life and professional ventures. But since the public blocking, the rift seems to have escalated further.
Brooklyn had already missed major family events amid the feud, including his father David Beckham’s 50th birthday and Christmas with the family. He remained in Los Angeles with Nicola Peltz’ family over the festive period.
While David and Victoria Beckham have not publicly commented on the reported legal exchange, the situation marks a significant shift in what was once thought to be a private family disagreement. The involvement of lawyers suggests the breakdown in communication may be deeper than previously assumed.
For now, reconciliation appears distant, with reports indicating that Brooklyn’s priority is protecting his marriage and maintaining boundaries, rather than fuelling further public discussion.
It’s thought Victoria and David received the desist letter at the end of last summer following months of speculation around their relationship with their son and his wife.
