Molly-Mae Hague has warned her fans off a certain beauty treatment and says she was left with a ‘ full beard ‘ after undergoing the procedure.

The former Love Island star, 25, took to her Instagram stories on Monday to jokingly warn fans off dermaplaning – a cosmetic procedure that exfoliates the skin and removes fine facial hair. The treatment is done by using a sterile scalpel or dermatome to gently scrape the skin at a 45-degree angle.

The top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, also known as “peach fuzz”, is removed. After getting the treatment done a number of times, mum-of-one Molly has warned fans that if they start it, they will be stuck in a ‘ trap ‘ and be forced to continue as the facial hair grows back at a rapid rate.

The social media superstar shared pictures from her latest dermaplaning treatment as she showcased the amount of hair that came off her face as a result of it being essentially shaved by the scalpel. Molly-Mae posted a photo of her ‘ peach fuzz ‘ on a cotton pad as she admitted that she was shocked to see how much hair came off her face.

Alongside the photo, Molly-Mae wrote: “Dermaplaning… The trap is so real. Look at the amount of fuzz that comes off my face when I get it done… because I leave it so long deciding if I want to do it again or not”. The influencer then posted a second photo of her clean and glowing face while she lay on the beautician’s chair. “The feeling after. Fuzz free”, she wrote.

Back in 2022, Molly-Mae first warned her fans against the procedure as she admitted that she had grown a ‘ full beard ‘ after getting the treatment done for the very first time. Molly-Mae shared her regrets for getting it done, and told her YouTube subscribers during a make-up tutorial to think twice about doing the same.

“If you guys can see that I do have a little bit of a beard, we’re not talking about it. I need to speak to you guys about my battle with dermaplaning – and just wish I never got dermaplaning. I basically have a full beard now”, she shared. “Basically with the dermaplaning, I got into the habit of having a dermaplaning facial and my peach fuzz just grows back at rapid levels now”.

Molly-Mae continued: “It was meant to sort of prevent it from growing back and mean that it would grow back less – but with any hair removal, like when you shave your legs, it means you have to start shaving them more. It’s just one of those things, when you start doing it you can’t really stop. So yeah you could say I wish I never started the dermaplaning because I’m not the sort of person who keeps up regularly with my beauty treatments”.

The former Love Island star famously removed all the filler in her face, including her lip filler, after a desire to revive her natural beauty back in 2020. Molly said she nearly ‘ destroyed ‘ her face as she spoke of her cosmetic regret after seeing a photo she wish didn’t exist. After falling under the pressures of cosmetic surgery, Molly said that she could have risked real lasting damage to her face and it would have had a serious impact on her life had she not reversed them when she did.
