Mollie King has opened up about the aftermath of having her second baby, revealing she’s been in ‘survival mode’ since giving birth to daughter Lilliana. The former Saturdays star and fiancé Stuart Broad, who share 19 month old Annabella together, welcomed their second daughter at the end of last year.

Former cricket player Ian McLaren headed to South Africa for work shortly after the birth of their second child. He’s now back, though, and the singer gushed about how wonderful it was for the quartet to spend quality family time together.

The 37-year-old has now spoken about the difficulties of motherhood during the first few weeks of her second child and the difficulties of motherhood the second time around.

“I feel like the first few weeks – it was the same with Annabella – I did find it quite tricky,” the star told MailOnline. “You’re just really in that sort of survival mode of, you’re up all night, you’re feeding constantly, but now I’m at that stage where I’m really able to sort of enjoy it and take the most of each moment.”

Despite having difficulties, Mollie claimed that moving from having two babies was much simpler than having none at once. She then stated that when Annabella was born, she “knew nothing” about motherhood.

Mollie announced the birth of her second daughter through an adorable black and white image showing four hands – hers, her fiancé’s and their two children. She wrote in the caption: “Welcome to the world beautiful baby Liliana. We are bursting with happiness! You are the most perfect Christmas gift our little family could have ever wished for.”

Stuart then shared the post on to his Instagram story, alongside the caption: “Happy New Year to you all! The end of 2024 was very special being in our little newborn bubble.”

The couple announced their pregnancy in August 2024 with a sweet image on social media, announcing that Annabella was excited to be a “big sister”. The photo showed Stuart kissing Mollie’s bump while holding their firstborn daughter on his shoulders.

Our baby girl will have a big sister, she says. We look forward to meeting you, our little one, in the caption.

Speaking to the Mirror on how she felt during the pregnancy, Mollie said: “I’m feeling physically pretty tired at the moment. It’s hard to know if it’s the fact I’m running after a toddler 24/7 or the fact that I’m carrying a little one in my belly, but the combination is certainly keeping me on the move! Sitting down in the evenings comes as a great treat each night.”
