After seven years at Arsenal, Switzerland’s Lia Walti has left and has a two-year contract with Juventus.
The 32-year-old described it as “one of the hardest decisions she has ever had to make” because she had one more year left on her North London contract.
Walti made 183 appearances for the Gunners, winning the Women’s Super League title, two League Cup victories, and the Champions League when he left Turbine Potsdam in the summer of 2018.
She expressed her excitement on Juventus’ official website. After a lot of time spent there, this is a significant step for me.
I’ve followed Juventus Women for a long time and am familiar with many of the players. I’m thrilled to be here because it’s a new challenge.
Although the midfielder didn’t play in the final victory over Barcelona, she was a part of the Champions League squad that last year.
Walti captained Switzerland at their home European Championship this summer and has won more than 100 international caps.
