With the release of her lifestyle brand and Netflix program, The Duchess of Sussex had a busy 2025, but not all of her endeavors received positive reviews.

With 2025 quickly drawing to a close, Meghan Markle is likely to be reflecting on a whirlwind year for her various business ventures and personal triumphs. And while the Duchess of Sussex certainly kept herself busy this year, not all of her endeavours ended in success.

The year truly ramped up for Meghan in March, with the highly-anticipated release of her lifestyle brand As Ever, as well as the premiere of the first season of With Love, Meghan on Netflix. Meghan was quick to celebrate the release of her first wave of products with As Ever, with her now famous jams selling out in a matter of minutes.

However, the first season of her Netflix programme was met with a wave of criticism, as it was branded ‘exhausting’ and ‘sensationally absurd’ by TV critics. The lifestyle show features cooking, baking, gardening and other hostess activities, with Meghan’s aim to share her “personal tips and tricks”, while “embracing playfulness over perfection” and “highlighting how to create beauty in unexpected ways”.

The Duchess of Sussex continued to concentrate on her As Ever brand, occasionally releasing new products like honey, baking mixes, and tea, before eventually launching a branch into the wine industry, despite her TV show’s regrettable failure to attract significant viewership on the streaming service.

Meghan made her second podcasting attempt earlier this year, Confessions of a Female Founder, which was released in April. Meghan stated that she would be taking an indefinite break from the podcast so she could concentrate on her other business endeavors, which only had eight episodes.

Meghan made her Paris Fashion Week debut in October in honor of Pierpaolo Piccioli, the new Creative Director for Balenciaga. The duchess’ appearance caused a stir when she appeared on the outside of mainland Europe for the first time in three years.

Sharing her highlights of the trip, Meghan posted a video driving through the streets of Paris, which eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out was close to where Princess Diana had died in a car crash in 1997. Despite the backlash, many were quick to jump to Meghan’s defence.

Meghan also made several appearances for charities and philanthropic efforts close to her heart in 2025, travelling to New York for World Mental Health Day alongside Prince Harry, before jetting to Washington D.C for Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit.

With a second season of With Love, Meghan on Netflix in August, the Duchess made a strong decision to concentrate on her lifestyle brand before a special holiday episode of the program aired in early December. However, the second season of the show sadly followed season one, receiving harsh reviews from industry insiders, and not making it into Netflix’s top ten most popular shows.

Meghan also faced some highly critical social media faux pas this year, including being photographed inside Kris Jenner’s birthday party on the eve of Remembrance Sunday and sharing a video of her heavily pregnant daughter Lilibet twerking in a hospital on the eve of Remembrance Day.

The Duchess of Sussex’s tragic year came to an abrupt conclusion when her father, Thomas Markle Snr, who she has been estranged from since her wedding to Harry in 2018, became seriously ill and had his leg amputated. A spokesperson for Meghan confirmed that she had reached out to her father, who is currently recovering from his life-altering surgery, despite his declining health.

Meghan’s commitment to her charity work and her lifestyle brand, Netflix TV series, and her husband’s commitment to her life brand is unquestionable in 2026.
