She was previously married to film producer Trevor Engelson before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and a friend of his has revealed what he purportedly said when the royal first began dating her.
A pal of Meghan Markle’s ex-husband has described his telling reaction to the news that she started dating Prince Harry. Before Meghan struck up romance with the Duke of Sussex, she was previosuly married to film producer Trevor Engelson for almost three years after tying the knot in 2011.
They divorced in 2014, with it being finalised two years before Meghan met Harry for the first time when the pair were introduced by friends in 2016. And now Bethenny Frankel, an original star of the Real Housewives of New York, who claims to be a friend of Trevor’s, says that as soon as he found out about his exes’ new relationship, he was convinced they would marry.

Of course, this turned out to be the case, as after just under two years of dating, Harry and Meghan married in a fairytale wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in front of the entire Royal Family and celebrity guests.
Speaking on The Toast podcast, Bethenny revealed she had met Trevor years ago at a bar and occasionally text each other, with one text interaction being about Meghan. The reality TV star and businesswoman said: “He said his ex was a woman from a show called Suits. I didn’t know what the show was. I didn’t know the woman.
I received a text message from Harry asking, “Is this your ex,” months later. Travis responded, “Yup.” Do you think she’s going to close, she asked in a text to him. – as in “marry him” and seal the deal. And she claims that Trevor said, “Oh, she’ll close.”
Bethenny continued, “I don’t want to get into more about that, but he said, “She’ll close.” Trevor has since wed Meghan, who is married to nutritionist Tracey Kurland, who has won millions of dollars.
Ford Grace Engelson, the couple’s first child, was welcomed in August 2020, followed by Sienna Lee Engelson, who made her debut in November 2021. They gave birth to Logan Stanford Engelson earlier this year.
According to Princess Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton, Meghan and Trevor first met at a dive bar while she was beginning her acting career.
However, shortly after the couple tied the knot, “cracks began to appear in their marriage,” according to the producer, who called their separation “totally out of the blue.”
Trevor changed from praising Meghan to feeling like he was a piece of something sticking to the bottom of her shoe, as one friend observed.
They were trying to keep a long-distance relationship alive at the time, and as a result, they were not living together when they split up. While Trevor lived in LA, Meghan had to spend a lot of time in Toronto, where Suits was shot.
