He might have been the most eligible bachelor but Meghan Markle has revealed she wasn’t fussed by Prince Harry’s royal life, instead, she preferred his childlike ways
Meghan Markle wasn’t too fussed on Prince Harry’s royal life. Instead, she liked his playful and childlike nature. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first met in July 2016 on a blind date arranged by mutual friends.
Just one day later, they enjoyed their second date together, having established a striking connection. And while most people would be stunned to date a Prince, Meghan, 44, didn’t care about his life at Kensington Palace, or his grandmother being the Queen.
“He loves me so boldly, fully, and he also has a different perspective because he sees media that I wouldn’t,” the former Suits actress said. Mum-of-two Meghan went on to add: “No one in the world loves me more than him, so I know he’s always going to make sure that he has my back.
” You have someone who just has this childlike wonder and playfulness. I was so drawn to that, and he brought that out in me. That’s translated into every part of our life. Even in business, I want us to play and have fun and explore and be creative. “
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, the Duchess also opened up about mistakes she’s made while living in the public eye”. You learn not to do it again, “she said, adding:” If it all goes swimmingly, you don’t learn from it. If you don’t learn anything, you’re not going to grow.
“I’m a mom with kids at that age where they are constantly learning something new. I watch them face things that feel completely insurmountable every day. But you can remember and say, ‘ I know it seems really hard right now, but trust me, that’s going to come so easily soon. ‘ I can give myself the same grace as a founder. There’s no such thing as perfect. I, too, get to make mistakes”.
But while she and the Duke gave up their royal lives in 2020, life in Montecito is now more fun for the Sussexes and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
Meghan joked that if the dough is overworked, it won’t rise, and she believes that people are often consumed by stress, causing them to lose sight of the fun in life.
“There’s also not a lot of fun in trying to be perfect,” she explained. And Christmas for the Sussexes is set to be filled with fun. Meghan, who has a lucrative deal with streaming giant Netflix, recently shared a glimpse into her new festive series for the broadcaster.
She and the Duke showed their affection for one another with a sweet kiss in the kitchen of their home. In her new series, the former actress spoke about “embracing traditions” and “connecting with the people we love”, before she and her husband kissed one another.
The show, which is slated for release on December 3, will see Meghan be joined by a range of famous guests as they help her make and plate up seasonal foods and crafts, as well as share their hosting tips for the Christmas period.
And while her royal in-laws will be heading to Sandringham for a cold winter, Meghan revealed she “loves” the Christmas series. She said: “I love the holiday season, it’s about finding time to connect with the people we love. Embracing traditions and making new ones. Let the festivities commence and embrace the special touches that bring you joy”.
Once again, she and Harry will be switching the royal tradition of exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve, and will be sipping on delicious cocktails and seasonal dishes – including Christmas cookies.
