After working with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for years, James Holt, who co-founded the Archewell Foundation, and Shauna Nep, left.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry issued a gushing statement after PR guru James Holt quit their charity.
James, who appeared in the bombshell Netflix series, Harry & Meghan, stepped down yesterday, stressing it had been a “great privilege” to work with the couple. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex praised the PR professional in their statement to the media, issued in response to the shock departure.
Meghan and Harry’s full tribute reads, “James has been a stellar support for us for nearly ten years.” “We are proud that he will continue to lead various humanitarian trips for us overseas through Archewell Philanthropies,” the couple’s tribute reads in full.
But both parties are yet to disclose the reason for James’ exit, ending his long-standing link with the the charity. He ran the charity Harry set up, the Archewell Foundation, alongside co-executive director Shauna Nep. The departure leaves just one employee at a new entity named Archewell Philanthropies.

James has reportedly returned to the UK. In response to his resignation, he too gave a positive statement. According to the statement, “I recognized a kindred spirit from the moment I met Meghan: someone who finds joy in difficult circumstances and feels genuine connection with people regardless of circumstance.”
The warm exchange occurs as Archewell transitions. On a $ 146, 000 (£ 108, 000) salary, two other junior administrative staff members, as well as Archewell’s director of programs and operations Kristen Slevin, were reportedly terminated this month.
However, James was the most devoted of the lieutenants, moving to California to work as their PR director before running Archewell, according to Linkedin. Holt was the one who revealed a Palace plot to the Netflix series Harry & Meghan in 2022. He claimed that the goal was to put them in a box or make them irrelevant once people began to notice their popularity.
James will continue to serve as a senior philanthropic advisor to Meghan and Harry, their Archewell Philanthropies, and on their “humanitarian trips overseas in 2026” despite his decision to leave.
However, sources claim that James is upset that Sussexes are going through a transition. He added that he is concerned about how the couple will react to his choice and that he is “very protective” of them.
