As part of his preparations for the Open Championship in his native Northern Ireland this summer, Rory McIlroy will play the Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club.

From July 17 through July 20th, the Masters champion hopes to capture a second Open title at Royal Portrush.

McIlroy will play at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, where he won the title in 2023 by one shot over Scotland’s Bob MacIntyre, in the final competition before golf’s fourth and final major of the year.

“I’m pleased to have the opportunity to compete for another Genesis Scottish Open title,” McIlroy, 35, said. “Winning a national open is always special.”

“I’m looking forward to carrying on the momentum to the home of golf this summer,” says the president. “It has certainly been a memorable year so far.”

When Justin Rose defeated Justin Rose in a play-off at Augusta earlier this month, McIlroy was the only player to complete the grand slam of his career.

The US PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, which he has won four times, will be his next major target, running from May 15 to May 18.
