As their long-running dispute reached a Paris labour court on Monday, France captain Kylian Mbappe is seeking 263 million euros (£231.5 million) from Paris St.Germain, while his former club demanded 240 million euros (£211 million).
The 26-year-old Real Madrid player is suing the European champions as damages for alleged ill-treatment and 55 million euros (£46.3 million) in unpaid wages as compensation for a contract dispute.
However, PSG claim their sum as recompense for Mbappe’s unsuccessful 300-million-euro move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in 2023.
The following summer, he made a free transfer to Real Madrid.

Mbappe turned down the move to the Saudi Pro League in July 2023, which sparked a long-running conflict.
Mbappe, who disputed that claim, and refused to sign a contract extension, thinks the French champions had a bias against him.
He was not invited to participate in PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia, and he was forced to miss their opening game before being reinstated.
PSG claim this was done in response to the player’s request to forgo some of his end-of-contract payments in order to safeguard the club’s finances.
However, Mbappe’s representatives have dismissed this as “fantastic,” with the player still waiting for salary and bonus payments.
PSG claimed at the hearing on Monday that they were “recognizing the significant damages the club has suffered” from what they called “serious breaches of his legally binding contractual commitments.”
Mbappe, according to the club, “acted disloyally by concealing his decision not to extend his contract for almost eleven months between July 2022 and June 2023.”
Additionally, they rejected any claims that Mbappe had been “harassed or pressured” and that he had “benefited from exceptional conditions for seven years at Paris St.Germain.”
Mbappe was at PSG from 2017 to 2024, and scored 256 goals in 308 games, winning 15 trophies.
