Maya Jama, the host of Love Island All Stars, has finally arrived in South Africa for the new season after admitting she had the flu that had “kept her a**.”
Stunning Love Island host Maya Jama has landed in South Africa – after pulling out of the much-anticipated launch show just hours before her flight for the new series of Love Island All Stars.
The 31-year-old Bristolian looked significantly more attractive than she did on the flight to the African nation, dressed down and beaming in a white shirt and pair of black sunglasses.
Maya landed on South African soil after illness forced her to pull out of the press launch, just days before filming began at the sun-soaked reality show, which sees the return of memorable islanders from past seasons.

The show’s leading lady had been due to launch the show with ITV on Monday ahead of the first episode airing this Sunday – but fell ill and had to skip the industry event in London.
Maya, a star’s representative, stated to The Sun that she was unwell and unable to attend the launch event this morning. She anticipates the January 12th premiere of Love Island All Stars.
Taking to her Instagram story on Monday night, Maya – who is dating Man City footballer Reuben Dias, with whom she spent a cosy Christmas together, wrote that she was travelling to the country and hoping that the baking heat – and being ‘dosed up’ on Vitamin C would kill the illness.
She wrote, “Used to spend this flight on the reds chatting away to the flight crew but entering this year wholesome,” along with a caption showing herself makeup-free and with an eyemask on her head on the plane.
She continued, “Lol truthfully, the flu struck me at the last minute to kick my a** for the final 24 hours. Next stop: [South Africa flag emoji] if you’ve got it all c’d up and praying the sun will remove it. (sic) “
Although she may not have attended the show’s previous launch event, ITV executives still had a lot to give the TV star.
Maya is the ideal host for Love Island, said Amanda Stavri, the commissioning editor. She is a big fan of the show and is cool, fun, and sexy. She brings a lot of energy to the show, and I believe she makes it feel very young and relevant.
“I’m sorry that she can’t be here with us, but I think she really shows her support for all the islanders and her enthusiasm.”
In a previous Instagram post, Maya had flashed her washboard stomach while posing in front of a glass of wine while wearing a pair of black jeans and a matching black jumper.
A beautiful year was concluded by her, “surrounded by love, happiness, and peace.” Tomorrow I’ll be heading to South Africa, where the sun, the sunshine, and my wholesome bike rides will take me back to werkkkk. So ready and excited.
The third season of Love Island: All Stars sees a total of 12 previous islanders giving it another shot at finding love in the famous villa.
The line-up includes some pretty iconic names such as Whitney Adebayo, 28, Millie Court, 29, Belle Hassan, 27, and Charlie Frederick, 30 – as well as Helena Ford, 29, and Boyzone star Ronan Keating’s son Jack, 26.
Drama is a given in the famous villa – but show bosses have said the new series promises to be the most explosive – and longest-running – yet, following last summer’s All Stars, which was the most-watched since 2022. They also teased a huge twist in which international islanders could join the format as late arrivals.
On ITV2 and ITVX’s Love Island: All Stars, which airs on January 12 at 9 p.m., airs.
