The Love Island star is taking part in the US version of the hit show – and she’s sent a chilling warning to her fellow players

Maura Higgins is hoping to kill everyone ‘one by one’ on the US version of The Traitors. The Love Island favourite – who found fame on the dating show back in 2019 – shared a clip from the new season, which launches today.

Sporting a latex catsuit, Maura says: “Well, I’m starting off wearing a cape. So… I’m hoping I’m a Traitor and I hope to kill everyone one by one.” She continues: “If someone comes for me at the round table, God love them. Sounds a bit traitor-y to me. I speak my mind. I’m not really a shadow kind of girl.”

Laughing, she adds: “That sounded really devious, didn’t it?”

Maura’s followers were delighted by the clip, with one saying the star was “made for this”. Another added: “Good luck – be it a faithful or a traitor – have a blast & watch your back.” A third chimed in: “Our Queen will run that castle.”

Maura’s appearance on the show comes following reports that she could be heading to Hollywood after the the premiere of her debut movie was met with heaps of praise.

The brunette plays Rose in feelgood film, The Spin. Sources told The Mirror that Maura’s performance was the talk of the screening – and exciting conversations have begun with big US execs about future roles.

“Everyone was talking about Maura and how great she was. She can act and people were impressed,” said the source. “There were a lot of important people from the film world in that room and conversations were taking place about what she does next.”

Irish comedy The Spin is about two music-loving but unlikely friends have two days to travel the length of Ireland to save their record store from closure. For one of them, not having a car is just one of the problems. It also stars Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt.

Director Michael Head said Maura was a dream to work with – and has tipped her for success. “Maura was thrown in the deep end, but she was brilliant,’ he said. “She said she was playing herself but wasn’t. She was bringing elements of herself to the character. She didn’t have an ego and took direction well. I would work with her at the drop of a hat again.”

“With Maura, I know she’s been very busy. She’s gone off to America. She’s a brand ambassador, influencer, I know her schedule must be packed. But I think she’s got the potential to be a fantastic actress. My nan would say she’s got something about her. She’s got that Irish sharp wit. And obviously she’s stunningly beautiful. I wouldn’t be surprised if she popped up in a Hollywood blockbuster.”

After Love Island, Maura went on to appear on Dancing On Ice as well as host the Irish version of makeover show, Glow Up.
