Following her success on Love Island USA and The Traitors US, reality TV star Maura Higgins has taken over the duties of host of Aftersun for the upcoming second season of Love Island Games in the United States.
Maura Higgins is continuing her rise in American television, landing yet another high-profile role just weeks after appearing on The Traitors US.
The Irish presenter, 34, has officially been confirmed as the host of the newly commissioned Aftersun series for the upcoming second season of Love Island Games. Having already impressed as the face of Aftersun for Love Island USA last year, Maura has firmly established herself as a fan favourite with U.S. audiences and producers have clearly taken notice.
According to reports, the former Love Island UK star will soon be jetting off to Fiji, where Love Island Games will begin filming next month. It comes after Maura’s defiant stance as she’s set for awkward Danny Jones run-in after their controversial BRIT Awards kiss.

An Aftersun show wasn’t included in the first Love Island Games episode because it was planned and later broadcast, according to a TV insider. However, it will be broadcast live like the main show this time.
The bosses made the decision to set up a special Aftersun, and Maura was the obvious host.
There was no guarantee that Maura would receive it because Games is a completely different show, the source continued to The Sun. She was overjoyed when her bosses approached her because it demonstrated how happy they were with her and why she is regarded as a key member of the Love Island USA family.
This new role builds on Maura’s growing success in the U.S., following her recent stint on The Traitors US, which was filmed in Scotland. There, she rubbed shoulders with American reality royalty, including Real Housewives stars Lisa Rinna and Caroline Stanbury.
Producers are undoubtedly impressed by Maura’s contribution to the expansion of the Love Island franchise in America. It’s no surprise that she’s quickly recognizable in the crowded TV industry thanks to her on-screen charm and quick wit.
According to insiders, Maura wants to work in America and sees this most recent position as a significant step toward establishing a long-term career there.
Stars from various international versions of the show are brought together under one roof at Love Island Games, where they will compete for the win in both physical and mental challenges.
While Love Island Games was previously hosted by Maya Jama, she has since stepped down. Ariana Madix, best known for Vanderpump Rules, will now take over main hosting duties, with Maura leading the spin-off.
