Jamie simply asked what Mark would say if he got the chance to work with the Spice Girls, he said: “If for instance the Spice Girls were on the phone, saying ‘we’d love a bit of the Ronson gold dust’.”
Mark replied: “It would be my honour, I play plenty of Spice Girls songs when I DJ, I have one that’s very dear to my hear which is 2 become 1, but I have my own remix and edits to that song, but of course, legend.”
Emma, who is known as baby spice, agreed that 2 become 1 was also her favourite song she worked on. However, when asked how he would change the song, Mark instantly said it’s perfect how it is.
He said: “Nothing! It’s the Mona Lisa. I [don’t know] I just put a little beat behind it, it’s pretty perfect as it is, it’s a floor killer every time.”
This comes as Mark revealed that his latest job was DJing at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding. Mark joined Scott Mills for BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show where he discussed the special day.
He said: “It was a lot of fun. I have known Benny for ten years and when he got engaged he was like will you come and do like a 90s DJ set at my wedding and I was like sure.”
It seems that Mark enjoyed the wedding as there’s another A-list celebration he wants to perform at as well. Speaking to Scott, he said he has blocked out his next year of work as he hopes he’ll get a call to DJ at Taylor Swift’s upcoming wedding.
The presenter pointed out that he’d heard Foreigner has already offered to play at the wedding of the century. Mark confirmed he’d heard the news as well but still hopes he’ll be there as well.
Mark has made it clear he will make himself available, saying: “I think there is a lot of people putting themselves up for that gig. Me, I am keeping the year open as well.”
