Mariah Carey, 56, the Queen of Christmas, made it a tradition to release a new video to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.
Mariah Carey has officially declared the start of the festive period in an iconic clip that saw her transform into Mrs Claus. The pop star is known as the Queen of Christmas due to the immense success of her holiday music.
She gained notoriety for her 1994 albums Merry Christmas and All I Want for Christmas Is You. In the clip, she yells, “It’s time! ” while wearing an all-white angel-like outfit with wings and feathers in her new post.
The singer, who was spotted by an unhappy elf who declares that Christmas is “cancelled” because he and his coworkers are unhappy, is captured in the video, which was produced in partnership with Sephora.

However, Mariah responds, “Elf boy, that’s my blush.” He replies, “Your lipstick, please? I’ll accept it. Christmas has been canceled. No cheer, glam, or bells. Bye, sweetheart”!
However, the angelic performer says to the elf, “You can’t cancel Christmas!” Billy Eichner plays the elf as he departs and asks Mariah if she has any last words, which she responds with “Yeah.” As Mariah sings, “It’s time, elf!” the elf then begins to become encased in ice.
As All I Want for Christmas Is You plays, she can be seen flying over a sleety New York City and delivering presents while driving the sleigh. The release of Mariah’s “It’s time” videos on November 1st, the day after Halloween, is a tradition.
In September, she announced she was working on the clip with director Joseph Kahn. After she shared the video on Instagram, comedian and actor Billy, 47, commented: “Always an honor to be your elf, @mariahcarey!”

The singer explained that the festive season was “a mess” during her childhood after growing up in a “dysfunctional family,” so she was so determined to change that. However, Christmas hasn’t always been a happy time for her. Mariah enjoys all the traditional customs, from decorating her numerous trees to eating festive food.
And she has also started a new tradition with her own family, taking her twins Moroccan and Monroe to Aspen, Colorado, every year to experience a white Christmas. “To see snow at Christmas is the greatest joy,” she explained. “It costs money to get to places with snow if you don’t live in one, and we never take that for granted.”
