Manchester United Cruise Over Bournemouth In Friendly

In the Premier League Summer Series pre-season competition in Chicago on Wednesday, Manchester United defeated Bournemouth 4-1 to earn their second straight victory.

At Soldier Field, which was sweltering and windy, Rasmus Hojlund, Patrick Dorgu, Amad Diallo, and teenager Ethan Williams scored, Ruben Amorim’s side came away with a positive result.

United always had the upper hand against the Cherries, who had won their opening match of the tour with a 2-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday. Hojlund gave the Cherries the lead after just eight minutes.

Hojlund, a Danish international team-mate, timed his run and leap flawlessly to send a header past Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic as Dorgu curled in a warm cross from the left flank.

In the 25th minute, Dorgu doubled United’s lead with a clever free-kick from Mason Mount, muscling his way into the area, and sliding a cool finish beneath Petrovic’s advance.

Before Amorim made nine changes with 20 minutes left, Diallo scored United’s third goal in the 53rd minute.

Williams’ low finish, which was a substitute for Williams, was all it took, and United were 4-0 up in the end of the second period, was all substituted for.

Matthijs de Ligt’s 88th-minute own goal was the only thing that left United’s performance a little stale.

West Ham came from behind to defeat Everton 2-1 in the other Premier League game on Wednesday in Chicago.

Before West Ham rallied to equalize through Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta just before half-time, Idrissa Gueye gave Everton a 1-0 lead after 17 minutes. The Hammers won thanks to German international Niclas Fullkrug’s 64th-minute strike.

Everton were soundly defeated by Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday, which set them up for another disappointing pre-season setback.

Everton manager Moyes later said, “I don’t have the players I need and what I want.”

“We already knew what we would face before we arrived in the US.” Therefore, we never anticipated a victory over us coming here.

“We’re not ready to begin the Premier League season,” he said at the moment. “We’re not ready to perform well enough in this tournament.”

On Sunday, United will face Everton and West Ham will face Bournemouth in the four-team competition in Atlanta.
