The unwanted quintet of Manchester United will miss Saturday’s pre-season game against Leeds United in Stockholm, but Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon have been named in the squad.

As the search continues to find them clubs, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia have been informed that they can train at Carrington on Saturday.

Following his £62,5 million move from Wolves, Cunha is likely to make his Leeds debut.

All of United’s senior players have traveled to Sweden to face Daniel Farke’s newly promoted side, with the exception of Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana, and Lisandro Martinez, who are all injured.

Harry Amass, a young defender, will not play for them because he will be going on loan to develop further this year.

Ruben Amorim’s 29-man traveling party includes some other young people, though.

After receiving new numbers earlier this week, the squad includes striker Chido Obi, defender Tyler Fredricson, and midfielder Jack Fletcher.

Additionally, Bendito Mantato, Sekou Kobe, Ethan Williams, Reece Munro, and Godwill Kukonki have traveled to Sweden.

On Tuesday, United will make a three-game trip to the United States.

After United submitted a £65 million bid for the winger, Brentford accepted Bryan Mbeumo for the upcoming tour.

Amass, 18, made his Amorim debut in March, making seven first-team appearances last year, including four Premier League starts.

He did not travel with the squad to Sweden or the US, but he did both games on United’s post-season tour of Asia.

Amass impressed many Americans last summer when he caught the eye during the pre-season, which included an encouraging display against Mohamed Salah from Liverpool in South Carolina.

However, Erik ten Hag, the then-boss, who felt the youngster lacked the strength to succeed in the Premier League despite the serious injuries to his side’s left-side defense, surprisingly overlooked him.

With Paraguay Under-20 international Leon arriving earlier this month, there is more competition for the position of backup left-sided defender.

The internal decision was made at United for Amass to try to gain valuable experience by requiring him to play first-team football every week, something that would not have happened had he played at Old Trafford.

Leon will participate in the US tour, but United still hold him in high regard and still has a lot of fans there.
