Matheus Cunha has signed for Brazil and is on a contract with Manchester United.
After United added a £62.5 million release clause to Cunha’s Wolves contract, the 26-year-old is expected to become their first summer signing.
The former Atletico Madrid forward has the option to extend his contract to five years and commit to a further 12 months.
Over the weekend, Cunha spent time in Manchester to get his medical under the belt.
The agreement, which is subject to visa approval and registration requirements, is anticipated to be completed when Cunha departs from his international duties with Brazil later this month.
On Sunday morning, Cunha left the Salford Lowry Hotel to join the national side.
In a World Cup qualifier on Thursday (Friday 00:00 BST), Carlo Ancelotti’s first game in charge will face Ecuador.
After making a permanent move to Wolves in 2023, the forward made 31 goals in 76 appearances.
Following a successful six-month loan spell at Atletico Madrid the previous year, he made a £35m move to the club.
