Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arraigned a 32-year-old man, Emmanuel Fasuyi, in a Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, the state capital, for allegedly killing his 65-year-old neighbour, Grace Ogunsulire, after stealing from her house.
The police charged Fasuyi, who resides in Ondo city, with one count of murder.
At the hearing of the case on Wednesday, the Prosecuting Counsel, Owolabi Edu, told the court that the offence was committed on September 16, 2024, at about noon at No 1 Oke-Itura Street, Yaba, Ondo City.
He claimed that Fasuyi struck the 65-year-old woman’s head with an object in gruesome revenge.
The defendant entered the deceased’s home with the intention of stealing without realizing that she was inside.

The defendant allegedly approached the victim and struck her with an object on the head after the defendant recognized him when she saw her exiting her bathroom, which ultimately caused her to perish.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal Code Law of Ondo State 2006.
In a pending recommendation from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), the prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused person in custody.
