The former Married At First Sight UK contestant wanted to try dating on a different reality show, but Channel 4 executives refused to let him appear on a second season.
A Married At First Sight UK star has claimed he was banned from appearing on Celebs Go Dating, despite pleas for him to do so.
Georges Berthonneau has revealed he was not welcomed on Celebs Go Dating, despite begging producers to give him a chance.
The reality star, who is known for appearing on the 2023 series of MAFS, said he was eager to go on the celebrity Channel 4 dating show. But according to Georges, he was quickly knocked back.
“I would be brilliant on a show like that,” he told The Sun. “I did Celebs Go Dating years ago, but they’re not interested. They said they’re not interested. They don’t want anyone from MAFS, they only wanted Ella [Morgan].”
When Georges, 31, suggested he would make compelling television, his employers allegedly refused to even hear him out.
He said, “You’re missing out on a trick here.” You may show you some of my older, illustrious photos. No one has ever done that, in my opinion. You would have a completely different story.
He continued, “No, you went on MAFS.” No, you participated in MAFS; instead, we are not interested. Cool, that’s okay. Your loss
Georges previously appeared on Celebs Go Dating back in 2018, where he was paired up with TOWIE favourite Chloe Sims. Despite his recent rejection from E4 bosses, the reality star insists he would jump at the chance to take part in another romantic series.
He declared, “I would]do it within a heartbeat.” “Because there aren’t any genuine blokes on the television anymore,” he said. I don’t resemble any of them, either. They all have handbags, fake teeth, and tattoos of their own. They all have six packs, are all skinny, and are all that and more. I am incredibly unique. I’m actually interesting, and I chat, too.
Just months after the cameras stopped rolling, Georges’ marriage to Peggy Rose from his time on MAFS ended in heartache. Later, Peggy claimed that as Georges’ obsession with fame increased, their relationship began to deteriorate.
She made a jab at her ex-husband last October, saying that “boys like attention, especially when boys haven’t had the attention before.” They tend to be a little big-headed, in my opinion.
The couple split at the start of 2024, when Peggy accused Georges of cheating after receiving messages showing him on dates with another woman.
Peggy claims that during a romantic getaway in Paris, he started to doubt her. They parted ways at the end of January of that year, and a girl contacted the Kent local to offer ‘proof’ that Georges and someone else were having affairs in December of that year.
She said at the time, “I was heartbroken. I can recall crying out loud. Georges refuted the accusations, claiming that Peggy’s actions during their marriage caused him to leave.
He resisted saying, “I never cheated on her.” She gaslighted, was manipulative, and would never let me down again. Now it’s boring.
