Due to a hamstring injury, Australia’s spinner Nathan Lyon will miss the final day of the third Ashes Test and will be a doubt for the rest of the series.

Lyon, 38, who took the fifth day of the fifth test with a sprained ankle, became Australia’s second-highest Test wicket-taker during the Adelaide Test.

He immediately left the field with his right hamstring tingling.

Australia was on the verge of a series victory when Lyon took three wickets in the fourth afternoon.

However, England showed admirable fight on day five and he was without a wicket before getting injured on day five.

Lyon has only five days until the fourth Test, which will start in Melbourne on December 26 (23:30 GMT, December 25), before returning home. Five days after the fourth Test was over, the final test in Sydney takes place.

One of the greatest spinners of all time, Lyon, suffered a calf injury during the second Test of the 2023 Ashes, which significantly contributed to England’s comeback against England, who lost the series 2-2.
