Wes Nelson, a former Love Island contestant, has stated that he needs surgery to repair a tendon that was brutally broken during his sporting performance over the holiday season.
Wes Nelson is set to go into surgery after suffering a horror accident. The 27-year-old reality star found fame on Love Island back in 2018, appearing in Series 4, where he entered on day one and ultimately fell for Megan Barton-Hanson – with the couple making it to the final, where they finished in fourth place.
Since leaving the Island, Wes has reinvented himself as a singer, with his single, titled 11:11, enjoying attention online over the festive season. And in recent days, the former TV star – who later dated Love Island’s Arabella Chi and later American model Lucciana Beynon – revealed he had suffered an agonising injury around Christmas.
Taking to social media previously, Wes revealed he had broken a tendon while playing a sport. Sharing a photo of his bandaged foot, the star wrote: “Decided to play football for the first time in years… Snapped my Achilles.” He later joked: “Nah, the game’s absolutely gone… 27 years old. I’m calling it a day. Golf and golf alone.”

Now he has updated fans to reveal the injury could be more severe than first thought. Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Wes posted an image of himself sitting on a hospital stretcher. While wearing sportswear, the image showed that the TV and music star had plaster all the way up his leg – from his ankle to just below his knee.
The image’s caption reads “Update. On New Year’s Eve, it appears as though I will have an operation to reattach my Achilles, along with red hearts, praying hands, and an emoji. The actor shared a second image of his cast-covered leg, saying, “On another note, when I was younger, I wanted a cast so bad! ” I am not the only one.
The former Love Island contestant has had a bad year, as thieves have targeted him twice in the last year. The unfortunate star explained to fans that his golf bag and clubs had been taken in October on social media.
He wrote at the time, “My full golf bag/clubs etc. have been stolen,” clearly infuriated. I detest the transformation of London. twice a year. Cheers”. His update came shortly after he revealed that a bag had been stolen while traveling by train and was valued at more than £8,000.
His designer bag was taken from above his head at the beginning of the year. He claimed at the time that the thief had snuck into him while the other man was sitting behind him, slowly slashed his bag toward him while escaping the train.
He claimed that the thief would perform the act on a train leaving Milton Keynes after only a “split second.” He remained appreciative of having removed his MacBook from the bag before the journey even began because it contained his music.
Wes wrote at the time, “My Louis Vuitton bag was just stolen on the train just as we stopped in Milton Keynes.” had everything in it that was significant. I’m fortunate that I removed my MacBook before traveling. Just a heads-up, it took a second to turn away the garbage and that was it. Rats can be found everywhere.
He continued, “Just clocked in this pic I sent earlier. The guy must have been slowly sliding the bag backwards whenever I looked down, because it has been withdrawn waaay back to the seat behind me. then abruptly dropped at the initial stop.
You know what’s crazy, you always believe there’s no way this is going to happen to me without me realizing it. However, this is S**t because this is my first time using overhead storage. Never again.
He posted a picture of the bag and offered to give a reward to anyone who can locate his item and all of its contents in a bid to get help from his followers. He stated, “I have a reward for anyone who can return it with contents.”
