Megan Forte Clarke, the star of Love Island, has been open about what lies ahead for her and her partner Conor Phillips.

She might have walked into the villa hand-in-hand with a glass of Prosecco, but Megan Forte Clarke was never destined to fade into the background. The 24-year-old from Dublin, now living in Brighton, was one of the standout personalities on the 2024 series of Love Island.

Megan quickly grew popular as a divisive figure as she navigated the highs and lows of villa life, gaining a quick wit, theatre-kid charm, and fearless honesty from her peers.

After a whirlwind first stint that ended in a shock dumping, Megan’s dramatic return later in the series gave fans some of the most memorable moments of the season. Whether she was offering unfiltered advice to the girls or sparking an instant connection with Conor, her presence was never forgotten.

Megan has since permanently shifted from the villa’s daybeds to TikTok dances, brand-building excursions, and other realities of developing relationships away from the camera.

Speaking exclusively, Megan opens up about life after Love Island, the misconceptions she wants to clear up, and why she and Conor are thriving in the real world.

Since leaving the villa, Megan admits life has been a whirlwind. “It is crazy. It’s literally like so hectic but so fun. I’m having a ball,” she says, reflecting on how quickly things changed once the cameras stopped rolling.

Looking back on her villa entrance, Megan recalls being thrown in at the deep end. “I didn’t know what to expect whatsoever going in. You walk in and it’s like Barbie’s dream house because everything is exactly what you’ve seen on telly.

Because all the girls were already there, Helen and I were the only ones who entered the room. But everything was fine once I sat down to drink a bottle of Prosecco.

Megan’s Love Island journey was unusual in that she appeared twice. After being dumped early on, she made a shock return later in the series. The difference, she says, was striking.

The villa’s routine was the same, but the atmosphere was completely different. Everyone was still figuring out their feet, and the initial energy was high. Everyone was extremely couple-y and chilled out when we returned later. It resembled an all-inclusive couples’ vacation, which was actually really nice.

Megan also found herself stepping into a bit of a mentor role. “When it came to Meg and Helena, obviously the boys had been being the boys. I was kind of doing it from a friend’s perspective. I don’t know if I was necessarily a fairy godmother, but I tried my best.”

Her villa stay was a source of controversy. Some viewers accused her of being a “maed girls”divide, which she now insists is untrue.

Oh no, the mean girls’ behavior is unacceptable. Everyone can have their funny little moments in that setting. However, Ali and I frequently traveled to Switzerland.

“I think I received a backlash because some perceived me picking sides, but I made friends with everyone there.” That is nice of me, which I am aware of.

Megan is thoughtful when questioned about whether she would come back to alter public opinion. “Yes and no,” I didn’t leave the first time with the best terms, but I don’t believe I changed anything about how I acted when I did.

I simply avoided watching drama that I hadn’t been watching. It was best to keep my two pence out because I know much more about what actually happens in the villa than what is shown on television.

Of course, Megan’s most exciting romance with Conor is her main focus when she’s not at home. After her return, the two instantly fell in love and haven’t looked back.

She claims, “It’s actually so much nicer coming out of the villa.” We can only do routine tasks together, despite how busy life is right now. Because it’s wild there, it’s developing so much more quickly. Instead of spending hours on our daybeds, we can now simply pop to the shops together.

Surprisingly, the couple hasn’t encountered any significant roadblocks yet. There are still no challenges ahead for us. The only difference is that Brighton and Ireland are both on the same route. Funny how I spend a week in his room before seeing him in my girly room. However, it’s great that we’re flying, in addition to that.

Moving in together is undoubtedly on the cards, according to Megan, but not yet. We want to move in, but we’ve kept it in our heads because so much is happening. However, there is definitely more to come.

children, too? She laughs, “Of course, there’s a little baby Megan-Conors running around dancing soon, but wait! “
