Love Island season 10 runner up Lochan Nowacki has told his fans he’s been rushed to A&E after potentially rupturing his Achilles – an injury that can take more than a year to recover from

Love Island’s Lochan Nowacki has spent his Sunday in A&E after being rushed to the hospital following a painful foot injury. The 27-year-old shared his health update on Instagram Stories, showing a photo of his injured foot elevated on a pile of pillows.

A large red mark could be seen on the top of his left foot, with the account manager writing: “Great way to start year. Think I’ve ruptured [my] Achilles praying I haven’t.”

Lochan then shared another post on which he revealed he’d attended A&E. Another photo showed a selfie of Lochan and his mum, Kulminder in a hospital waiting room.

Lochan wrote: “A&E Let’s see how long we wait.” In the snap, he could be with his eyes shut, while his mum stuck her tongue out playfully as he took the selfie.

No more updates have been posted so far, with Lochan sharing his most recent post with his 212k followers four hours ago. The NHS advises that the pain can be a sudden sensation in a person’s heel or calf, sometimes paired with a snapping or popping sound.

They add that “patients often describe the feeling as if someone has hit or ‘shot’ them in the back of the leg”, and that “walking is usually difficult” following the injury. It can take 12 or more months to fully recover after an Achilles rupture.

The injury is likely to be a huge blow to the star after such a positive start to 2026. Lochan soft-launched his new relationship with Too Hot To Handle’s Brianna Balram after the pair enjoyed a trip to Paris to celebrate her 28th birthday.

She shared a photo of herself wrapped in a duvet on a huge bed, surrounded by birthday balloons. The reality star, from Atlanta, posted: “Cheers to 28 years of this beautiful ,crazy life. Thank you, GOD.”

Jumping into the comments section, Lochan wrote: “Happy birthday, baby!! Blessed to be spending this day with you and the rest of them.”

Brianna later posted a photo of her walk along the river in the city, with Lochan just about visible in the corner, all but confirming they are together. It comes after Lochan’s bitter split with ex and former Love Island co-star Whitney Adebayo.

The pair met on Love Island in 2023, during which they came in at second place on season 10. But things went sour after a couple of years, and the pair announced they were calling time on the relationship in April 2025.

Earlier this year, Whitney publicly announced their split and later made shocking claims about Lochan, saying he called her skin “dirty” during their relationship – an allegation he strongly denies. It was revealed in September last year, after both parties shared their version of what happened between them on social media, that Lochan is in the process of taking legal action against Whitney.

He went on to address the situation again, suggesting his “chemistry” with a female influencer is the real reason he feels Whitney has made allegations. Breaking down the timeline, he references a video he collaborated on in July with Brianna Balram.

“One day later, Whitney makes a dig at this collab on Snapchat, saying ‘using another sister or clickbait’,” he continued. “One week later on the 31st of July in a podcast, the female collab guest expressed we had good chemistry.”

“One day later on the 1st of August, Whitney posted a TikTok insinuating I called her skin dirty regularly. A day later on the 2nd of August, she confirmed this post was about me.”

He added: “There is no mention of racial accusation towards me over a three-month period, post-break-up. But as soon as I collaborate with a female, negative false comments start being made about me, my family and my friends.”

Whitney has since denied any legal action has been taken about her. Whitney told The Mirror and other press: “I’ve never had a court case so this is genuinely news to me. I’ve just been focusing on my business – my hair business, my podcast. No, no court case.”
