EXCLUSIVE: Love Island’s Gabby Allen spoke to the Mirror about her relationship with co-star Casey O’Gorman just days prior to the announcement that they have now split up
Reality TV star Gabby Allen had “no time for boyfriends” during her relationship with Casey O’Gorman just days before announcing their break-up. It has been announced that they have separated two months after winning the Love Island spin-off All Stars.
Gabby, 33, and Casey, 28, began a romance whilst coupled-up on the ITV2 show back in January. The following month they were crowned the winners of its second season and have kept fans updated since leaving the villa. It however has been announced tonight that they have now parted ways.
Just two days before sharing the news, Gabby spoke to the Mirror about her relationship with Casey at the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. She teased that things were going “so good” but admitted that she had struggled to find time to see loved ones due to her work schedule, which includes running a fitness programme.
Asked how things were going, she said on Sunday: “So good! We had such a laugh yesterday.” Gabby explained on the red carpet: “Obviously the sun is amazing and we went for drinks in the park with his mates and it was just so much fun.”
She continued: “I love that because our friends get on. We went out with my friends on the Friday, and his friends yesterday. That’s so important to me because my friends are my family. We all just get on so well, so it’s amazing.”
We also asked Gabby how she found the transition of taking their relationship from the villa into the real world. She said: “So weird because first of all you don’t have your phone [in the villa] so you don’t have any work to do – it’s glorious!”
Gabby continued whilst on the red carpet: “I think that’s the only thing that like you have to really try and navigate is like going back into your real world. I have two businesses so I have to like try and juggle that. Which I don’t have time to bloody see anyone, let alone have a boyfriend.”
She concluded: “So that’s like something that’s like new into my life that we’ve been like y’know trying … you have to make time because otherwise you end up not seeing each other for a week. So that’s once again … like when we do see each other, we just wanna like snog and stuff and not be on camera!”
Since the interview on the weekend, Gabby has confirmed that she has separated from Casey. In a joint statement issued by their reps to the Daily Mail, it’s said that the decision was “mutual” and that they “remain on good terms”.
The statement reads: “After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically. This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other.”
In an additional comment, a spokesperson for Gabby said: “[She] is grateful for the memories they’ve created together and wishes Casey nothing but the best as they both move forward on their individual journeys.” They added amid the news that she is “excited for what the future holds”.
There had previously been some speculation of a potential split since they left the villa prior to the news. Then, earlier today, it had been reported that Gabby and Casey had separated, prior to the statement confirming the news.
