A former Love Island star had to have abdominal surgery and received a sweet note from the show’s producers.

A Love Island winner has been hospitalised and had to undergo emergency surgery. Amaya “Papaya” Espinal, who was crowned season seven winner in the stateside version of the show was rushed to hospital for surgery over the weekend.

The 27-year-old reality TV star has reportedly had abdominal pain. Amaya may still be receiving medical attention in Los Angeles.

She gave her social media followers an update shortly after her surgery. Sharing a snap from her hospital room, Amaya also revealed ITV had sent her well wishes. She showed off a bouquet of flowers and she held up a note that read: “Your friends at ITV and Beyond the Villa are thinking of you and wishing you a speeding recovery.”

Amaya used hearts and teary-eyed offerings to caption her upload with emojis. She has been documenting the dating series’ spin-off show.

After winning the reality TV competition and splitting the $100, 000 prize, Bryan Arenales and her return to the show confirmed they had ended their brief romance. She stated in August that Bryan and I are no longer together.

It became clear that we were taking two distinct journeys after we left the villa. Relationships are supposed to be a team sport, but our visions diverged. I sincerely wish him the best of luck in this situation.

UK fans of Love Island are readying themselves for the latest instalment of the All Stars show. The latest instalment is set to kick off in January and one former contestant has seemingly revealed they are taking part.

Scott van‑der‑Sluis is reportedly set to return and the 24-year-old footballer is no stranger to appearing on the show. He first entered the villa as a bombshell in the 2023 series in season 10.

He finished sixth along with Abi Moores at the time. Just before the final, which Jess Harding and Sammy Root later won, the pair were taken home from the ITV show.

Scott surprised viewers by appearing on the US version a month later. Unfortunately, the Welshman’s poor impression was minimal because he was dumped from the island after just a week.

Scott took part in the Love Island Games the same year. It was the first spinoff episode of the dating program ever. He was dumped from the villa after only three days, but this time, he didn’t do well.

However, despite his previous issues, the goalkeeper is now reported to be making a comeback to Love Island when the All Stars series debuts in South Africa in January to give him another chance to meet his match.
