Love Island star Malin Andersson shared her festive setback with her followers on Instagram as she took a trip to A&E following a painful incident with a Christmas Tree
A former Love Island star has been rushed to A&E following a painful incident with a Christmas Tree.
Malin Andersson, 33, who featured on the second series of Love Island back in 2016, shared her festive setback with her followers on Instagram. She took to her Instagram Stories to capture her hospital stint and in the short clip as she panned around her hospital cubicle.
She said: “I’m in, ready to get this out. God I’m actually scared, I have given birth twice, but there is something freaky about getting a bauble out of your toe.”
She continued in another post: “Omg I’m still here. Gotta get a gown on and everything to go into theatre. All in all since I went to A&E I have spent eight hours on my toe.”

Malin then revealed she had undergone the procedure, which proved to be a success as she shared a picture of her toe bandaged up. She stated: “It’s out – didn’t know a toe could be so painful ffs! The staff were amazing. Natural healers/earth angels.”
She then shared a video from home where she explained how her daughter had dropped a bauble, and she stood on it while she was cleaning. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that she realised how ‘deep’ the bauble had gone and that she would need medical assistance to cure the problem.
It comes as Malin revealed in the summer that she was “quitting the UK”- after revealing there was “nothing left” in her hometown for her.
The former Love Island was in Portugal at the time with her daughter Xaya, as she gave her followers an update on their living situation. She said: “Update. Me and Xaya are in Madeira. My best friend lives here and we’re going to be here for a week before I go on my next adventure to Barcelona, because I’ll be dropping her off to see her dad for a week,” she said.
Opening up about her past, Malin spoke about how she moved from Sweden to the UK when she was three, and had been in Bedfordshire ever since.
“Take away work and things like that, and your safety net becomes the town that you’re in, the people, the same faces, those same things,” she continued.
However, upon reflection Malin reaslised that there was “nothing here for me.” Emotionally opening up, the star said: “I came with a family, and I’m leaving without anyone. I don’t speak to any of my siblings, they all live separate, my parents are dead, I have no family. It’s just me and Zaya.”
The 32-year-old then revealed: “I had enough. I felt like my soul was taken out of me. I was functioning being a zombie doing the same thing. When you’ve known stress, suffering, and trauma your whole life, and just s**t, you go through the healing phase, the void, you go inwards, you isolate and then you come out. And it’s like, I need change, so that’s what I’ve done.”
