Fans of Love Island believe that Sean, who had a blossoming romance with Belle, was secretly “terrified” of her because he struggled to look her in the eye as she confronted him on Monday’s episode.
Love Island fans think Sean is secretly “terrified” of Belle despite his budding romance with her. The reality star, 32, is one of several former contestants to have made a comeback to the villa for the All Stars spin-off, and following a public vote, was coupled up with Belle, who originally appeared on the fifth series of the ITV2 dating competition.
During the first recoupling, Belle opted to stick with Sean, though he later confided to Tommy that he would have rather been paired with Helena. Once Belle found this out, she asked Sean: “Do you feel like you’ve missed out anything from our conversation?” and he quietly replied: “No…”
She continued telling him what was actually said, and then raged: “Don’t tell me one thing and then another thing to others, that’s all I’m saying!” When Sean failed to look Belle in the eye, she added: “You’re not really saying much babe.”

The tense moment did not go unnoticed by viewers at home, and they took to social media to react to the awkward situation. One said on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Sean s******g it because he knows Belle can kick off bigger than she did with him!” and another said: “He can’t even look at her #loveislandallstars!”
According to another comment, “Sean has definitely watched this scene andamp; is terrified of Belle”!, referring to a previous encounter she had with the series. Fourthly, “Sean pulls her to check if it’s okay that he fancies samie LOOOL” because he is so afraid of belle! and a fith remarked, “Did Sean not even watch Belle’s season because he really believes Belle is a roadman she is from south London and that he is going to let him get away with it”
From series seven’s Millie Court to series nine’s Shaq Muhammad, 12 ex-Islanders made their way back to the ITV villa for another chance at love in the first episode. Before the series’ first icebreaker, Tommy Bradley and Jess Harding exchanged flirty texts that they had been sending each other outside of the villa and that caused a lot of kissing.
The girls’ initial smooching session, which saw the girls kissing the boys they thought would be kind and boy for them, was over after host Maya Jama revealed the results of the first public coupling vote. Ciaran and Millie, Tommy and Jess, Shaq and Leanne, and Sean and Belle Hassan were the first to marry.
Love Island’s return to our screens came a few days later than expected, after production was shut down due to South African wildfires. ITV announced over the weekend that production had been evacuated due to safety concerns.
“Our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed,” a spokesperson said on Saturday. “Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.”
Before ITV made its official announcement on Wednesday that the series would make its grand return the following evening, the series was delayed for a few days.
On ITV2 and ITVX, Love Island: All Stars airs on weeknights at 9 p.m.
