Musician Louis Tomlinson is currently gearing up for the release of his third studio album, which will be made available to fans in a matter of days. He is “enjoyed” for this.
Louis Tomlinson has issued a powerful statement. The musician, who found fame as one fifth of One Direction, will release his third studio album, How Did I Get Here? later this week and he’s struggled to contain his excitement.
Tomlinson, 34, has resisted the stereotypical boyband image and more recently found peace and security in his music. His music now focuses on the genres he enjoys and draws inspiration from bands like Oasis.
The Doncaster-based artist just announced the release of his most recent independent single, Imposter. pop song with bassline and guitar riffs that delve deeply into the listener’s soul right away. Tomlison admits to having imposter syndrome despite being one of the biggest names in the field.

But just days before the release of his upcoming album, the rocker said on X, formerly known as Twitter : “Big day today! So excited to release Imposter, sets the tone for the record! Going to have one final listen through to the album before Friday’s release. Feeling really grateful and really excited! Thank you as always for the love.”
He added, “Going to need your help over the next few days to cut through the noise,” to his 28.8 million followers in another message. Time to dedicate this record to the honor it deserves, before adding, “I want to thank each and every person who has helped me over the years. You remain with me throughout this entire record.
Without all the strength and confidence you and your team have given me, this album would never have sounded the way it does. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! What brought me here?
For the record, Louis worked in the UK countryside before visiting Costa Rica last year, pushing himself. Imposter was written in Costa Rica’s jungle, he said. It resembles the concept of identity in some ways.
“It’s probably the most melodic moment on the record, I’m really excited for the world to finally hear it!” Reflecting on his album, Tomlinson said: “I sum up it as ‘The record I always deserved to make’. My bread and butter is the honesty. I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope it comes through in the music. I’m still learning and getting better as a singer and a songwriter. I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I’m allowing myself to be the artist I’d always hoped to be.”
Louis said in a new interview that he became aware that occasionally one or two band members become successful, not all of them, after their respective careers ended.
He made the comment to Billboard, “That was really frightening because I was never going to put myself in that group of two ever.” However, Tomlinson has finally found happiness in the campaign trail this time around despite being open about not liking previous rounds of promotion.
He continued, “I’m] really willing to show it off, and I think it’s a really nice gesture.” However, Louis has become a lot more self-assured following his most recent outings. He continued, “I think what I love about those live experiences is that it doesn’t really leave any room for any kind of self-loathing or anything like that.”
And I definitely struggle with that post-band, but having those live performances and performances night after night make it seem like an undeniable feeling, you know? So I just enter this record feeling fresh and renewed, like I’m feeling refreshed. It gives off a nice vibe. Louis will make a second headline tour around the world later this year.
What Place Was I In? is available on January 23 via BMG.
