The revelation was made by Coleen Nolan, a mother-of-three with sons Shane Jr., Jake, and daughter Ciara, while speaking out against a fan’s plight alongside fellow Loose Women panelist Jane Moore.
Coleen Nolan has shared a candid insight into her fears about her daughter’s love life before she was engaged. In a segment of the Loose Women: Just Between Us podcast, Coleen and fellow ITV panellist Jane Moore set out a fan dilemma that involved the new boyfriend of a listener’s daughter.
There was “something about him” that Jane didn’t like, according to a listener named Joanne who had read his words. Joanne claimed she could “do better” because he “treats her well,” but she was concerned that they were from different backgrounds.
In response, Jane said she sounded a bit “snobby”, a notion with which her co-host agreed. Coleen, a mum-of-three, pointed out that he treats her well, so “isn’t that all you want?” She advised Joanne to let her “live her own life a bit”.
Jane and Coleen, who is mum to sons Shane Jr and Jake, whom she shares with ex-husband Shane Richie, and a daughter named Ciara with ex-partner Ray Fensome, proceeded to elaborate on their own experiences introducing their boyfriends to their parents.
It led to a chat about Ciara and Coleen’s introduction to her daughter’s fiancé, Maxx Innes (the couple are now expecting their first child). She explained that she initially had her own reservations, but he would prove to be “absolutely brilliant”.
He was first introduced to him at a family gathering, according to Coleen, and he was a member of Shane’s band.
She continued, “She came out and I was sitting outside with my friend,” and she said, “Oh, Mum, she said, The guitarist.” She said, “I might have to kiss him because he’s very attractive.”
“Oh God, how funny, what’s she like, I went,” I said. And when she entered, I said to my friend, “Oh God, no, please don’t let her end up with a musician because I just divorced one, that being her dad,” and she responded, “Oh God, no, no, please don’t let her end up with a musician.”
Coleen added that once they started dating, however, her fears were soon put to rest. She noted that it was the “best thing that’s ever happened”, to which Jane replied that he’s a “nice young man”. Coleen added that he’s “absolutely brilliant”.
In April of last year, reports emerged that Maxx had proposed to Ciara while they were on holiday in Vietnam. In the aftermath, Ciara posted a snap of them holding hands as she sported her new ring, writes the Mail.
In her post, she wrote: “It was like a fairytale and I can’t wait to spend forever with you @maxxiness I love you xxx.” Meanwhile, Coleen took to Instagram to share a photo and offer some words of support.
She remarked, “Well what can I say, I’m so thrilled that @maxxinnes has asked my gorgeous girl @ciarafensome to marry him.
