Coleen Nolan, the star of Loose Women, said: “I’m sad to be leaving Television Centre, where I started out in television.”
Coleen Nolan bid a sad farewell to Loose Women’s Television Centre home – 51 years after she started her career there with her famous sisters. The ITV show is moving to a new shorter format in the New Year as part of a shake-up of the daytime schedule and is moving out of its West London home.
She stated in one of her regular updates to viewers that she was “really sad” to be saying goodbye to people on the show she has known for decades, saying, “This will be the last one I do before we move next year to a whole new beginning of Loose in different studios, different format, but we’re still coming back.
“It’s sad to be leaving Television Centre, somewhere where I started my whole career in television when I was nine years old. So many memories of that building with my sisters and the amazing people we worked with over the years and the series we did. And in the last few years with Loose.
“So yeah, I guess I just wanted to jump on here and say goodbye from White City. I’m also really sad because I’ve been working with some of them for 20 odd years, crew wise. They must have lived my life for me, in my opinion. I’ve told them things I’ve done in the background with really good friends, and that’s what they’re doing.
Coleen continued, “I’m going to miss them a lot. However, we’ll be in central London starting in 2014. Whether or not we like it or not, we are still bringing our own experiences and opinions. I’d like to see you there.
“To the fantastic crew I am leaving behind, this is for you. I genuinely love you all, and not in a showbizzy way. I hope you have the best Christmas and more importantly everything you wish for in the new year and please keep in touch.”
Demot O’Leary also posted a message to the crew on this show ahead of similar changes at This Morning that will see staff depart. He wrote: “A quick word about an incredible team. The last day for many at @thismorning For some it’s the end of an era, for others the start of a new story.
“I just wanted to thank them for their tireless efforts to produce two hours worth of TV each day. Every day evolving with professionalism, humor, and good humor. We can dance under those lights by doing what they do in the shadows. Big love to TMX.
From The H Club Studio in Covent Garden, central London, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women will be broadcast. An LED wall in the new studio can be changed to toggle between shows.
Due to a change in schedule, Lorraine will be shaved by half a year from its current 30-week airtime, cutting it by half. The hour-long program for Loose Women will be cut to just 30 of 52 weeks per year, though.
