Goalkeeper Sophia Poor has been permanently signed by newly promoted Women’s Super League side London City Lionesses.
The 19-year-old, who was on loan from Aston Villa for the second half of last season, has since signed for Lionesses on a full-time basis.
After signing with Lionesses in January, Poor helped them gain first-ever promotion to the WSL. He made 12 starts.
The teen, who has won England caps at under-17 and under-19 levels, will now work to prevent Lionesses from being the third newly promoted side in a row from falling instantly to second place.
As a goalkeeper, Sophia has probably the greatest potential, according to Lionesses manager Jocelyn Precheur, according to the club’s website.
Because she has everything in store for the best English goalkeeper in a few years, I really wanted to keep developing her. She has my full trust, and I’m happy that she has faith in me.
In preparation for their WSL debut, Poor is the seventh player to join the Lionesses this summer.
