Midway through their first Women’s Super League campaign, the London City Lionesses have fired manager Jocelyn Precheur.
According to what sources, the club is searching for a replacement for Precheur, who led London City to promotion in 2024 and 2025.
On Sunday, the decision was made known to the players and staff.
The club is believed to have chosen not to make the decision based on results but rather with the intention of altering their long-term plans, and they do not believe the Frenchman to be the ideal manager to help them move forward with their development.
It shocks me because London City are currently in sixth place with five victories from their first 11 games.
London City, the only WSL team without a men’s team affiliation, were promoted to the championship title from the previous year’s WSL 2, which is now known as WSL 2.
They play at home at Hayes Lane, a stadium that they share with Bromley, who play men’s football in League Two.
Under Kang’s leadership, whose wealth Forbes estimates at $1.2 billion (£890 million), the club has undergone a transformation.
The Lionesses were in danger of liquidation when the American businesswoman bought them in December 2023.
