Legend calls her solo album Dealer “the biggest smash” he’s heard in years as legendary singer Lola Young discusses her successful musical career with Elton John.
Music sensation Lola Young took the world by storm when she released her hit single Messy last year. And while she gained a legion of fans the world over, it seems there was one unlikely person who quickly became her number one fan – step forward Sir Elton John.
On his Rocket Hour podcast on Apple Music 1, the music legend behind hits like Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Candle In The Wind described her single Dealer as “the biggest smash I’ve heard in years.”
Elton tells her about the single from her upcoming album I’m Only F***king Myself that “there is a track on your album that would be the next single, I’m going to tell everyone it’s called “Dealer.”

The 24-year-old London-born singer and songwriter, who studied at the BRIT School, gained notoriety when she released her song Messy, which attracted both the good and the great in the music industry.
Elton praised her performance in her own video and described the hit single as “great” during the conversation.
He continued, “Messy was the record that really sucked you into the stratosphere.” Because you were performing in the video and you thought, “Wow, this is a proper artist,” I loved the video.
He continued, “This is a real artist,” throughout their conversation. This is not some pop star making videos of miming and other things.
He added: “This girl is unreal. I don’t want to make comparisons, but Raye is the same as you, she’s a great artist, she gives out so much of herself. “
Then he continued, “You are there because I love you. You get what you see when you see Lola Young.
Elton remarked, “Well, the thing about you is that you are authentic. And what you get is f**king great.” And there are currently so many authentic girls around. The girls are truly leading the charge.
However, Lola appears to be as enamored of Elton as he is of her. She thanked him, Elton, and explained what his encouraging words meant to her. I value this a lot. You are a fool. I’m so happy to be seated with you.
She continued, “I’m honestly shocked by how much has happened in my life. But there are other things, such as when you speak with someone like yours. “
She continued, “I have really managed to get out of a lot of dark things and have gone through a lot.” I appreciate having you. I’m able to do that because I’m in such a head space right now, so it can take advantage of what’s happening, the success, and everything else that music does.”
