The 24-year-old singer, who collapsed on stage earlier this year, announced to fans that she would be taking a break from performing.

Lola Young has shared an emotional message after stepping back from the spotlight to focus on her well-being.

At the end of September, the singer-songwriter told fans she had cancelled her upcoming gigs after collapsing on stage at a concert in New York. She said at the time: “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future.

You will obviously be entitled to a full refund. Once I’ve worked on myself and come back stronger, I’m really hoping you’ll give me another chance. Love you all, Lola x.

Now the singer posted a statement on Instagram thanking supporters for giving her the time and space she needed, admitting the past year has taken its toll. In the post, Lola said she has felt “so much love and support” and that it helped her more than people might realise.

Hey, I just wanted to thank everyone who has given me the time and space to gather myself and make a better head. She wrote to her 1.8 million followers. You all have been so generous with your kindness and assistance, which has been more appreciated than you will ever know.

The 24-year-old singer continued, “I hope to slowly return to performing and working toward my goals,” adding that she is more optimistic about the future.

I’m hoping to resume my musical talents and pursue my goals over time. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you in 2026, she said. Nothing in life is perfect, but I’m on a good path today. Lola x, all my love forever.

The star’s career has accelerated quickly since several of her songs blew up on social media, which is followed by the update, which comes after a dazzling year for her. After being diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder at the age of 17, Lola has previously openly discussed her mental health. People with the disorder may experience psychosis as well as mood swings, according to the mental health charity Mind.

Lola also suffers from ADHD and mental health struggles. In an Instagram post in 2022, she said: “I can’t find the words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life, and my outlook on the world around me.

“I’ve been incredibly learning to accept this aspect of myself, and I’m still learning. I must remind myself that I am just a regular f****** person, that I am human, and that, like everyone else, I am capable of amazing things, and that my mental health does not preclude me. My superpower is it.

She explained that she initially assumed she had bipolar disorder and clinical depression before being diagnosed with the condition.

My mother’s brother and my uncle on my dad’s side both died, and I have a history of it in my family, Lola said in a statement to The Telegraph.

Many followers praised her honesty and urged her to take all the time she needs in the comments section.

One user responded, “Your wellbeing comes first, and I’m so eager to start the next chapter whenever it comes”! While another person yelled, “Sending you so much love. Take your time, always.
