‘Liverpool in full-blown crisis and Slot under severe pressure’

Premier League champions Liverpool are now being saved from a setback by Arne Slot.

Nottingham Forest’s horror show at Anfield on Saturday was a slog into the depths.

What was initially viewed as a blip, based on the compelling evidence of Slot’s first title-winning campaign last year, has turned into a full-fledged crisis for Liverpool and their deteriorating head coach.

Chairman Tom Werner was at Anfield to watch a 3-0 defeat to impressive Forest, which was a far worse performance than anything he’s ever seen at home.

It’s difficult to determine how bad that was, but Slot remarked, “It was very bad.” Losing 3-0 no matter which team you play is a very, very poor result, according to the saying “playing at home is a very bad result.”

No one can suggest that Slot’s job is in danger immediately as a result of his deeds under Jurgen Klopp’s rule, but he is now under serious pressure to turn the tide that threatens to engulf Anfield because of how brutal this game is.

Whatever role does Liverpool’s manager play in terms of winning games? When he loses six of his seven Premier League games, he is under even greater pressure and scrutiny. This number exceeds the 58 they had before.

At Anfield, they have lost twice as many league games as they have in the previous 53.

A soft, very soft underbelly has taken the place of the cloak of invincibility that Liverpool carried last season. And it’s there ever since the start of the season.

Martin Keown, a former England and Arsenal defender, said: “Whether it’s a crisis, I don’t know.

The manager faces a significant issue if they go six losses out of seven. Unthinkable .

“The wheels are now turning on Arne Slot,” the statement read.

Jurgen Klopp’s team tried to adapt, but he spent £450m on players who are now playing ineffective.

Another major disappointment, Slot slot claimed on BBC Sport’s Match of the Day program.

“We had a good start for the first half an hour,” he said. We were unable to play the way we did in the opening half-hour due to the 1-0 conceded.

It’s my responsibility to decide whether things turn out well or poorly.

“We were unable to produce enough.” I tried a few adjustments, but they failed.

Alexander Isak, who was pursued and ultimately signed from Newcastle United amid much acrimony for a £125 million British record fee, is a prime example of the scale of the current decline.

He walked into the ring rusty after his Tyneside strike, but he picked up a groin injury that sidelined him. It is an understatement to say that he started off poorly at Anfield.

Slot gave Isak this opportunity. He did it next to it if he did not exactly do it.

He was uninteresting, lightweight, and lost.

Isak was not at ease. As the game progressed, Liverpool faded.

Mohamed Salah can be deemed a contributing factor to Liverpool’s decline, but he cannot be so. He was the only player at Liverpool who could raise his head.

The problems and unflattering statistics are starting to pile up like rubble around Slot’s feet.

The Dutch coach, who showed such skill last year, is suddenly struggling. Since Eddie Nketiah’s stoppage-time goal at Crystal Palace in September, when Liverpool suffered their first loss of the season, he hasn’t had any options.

What had become standard service for Liverpool was worked over in a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City, then fell flat without even a fight against Sean Dyche’s revitalized Forest, where they had previously made hints about a revival with victories against Aston Villa, Aston Villa, and then a Champions League victory at home to Real Madrid.

Even Slot’s substitutions, including Hugo Ekitike and Ibrahim Konate, sounded like a sign of desperation. It resembled a gamble, a shotgun in the dark, and many things.

The hapless Isak was the subject of much discussion, who was later given another 13 minutes to make sure this was not his day.

seasoned Anfield observers are rubbing their eyes in disbelief at what they are seeing as a result of the decline in standards and fundamental levels of performance since last season.

Florian Wirtz, who was purchased for £116m from Bayer Levekusen this summer, has also failed to produce. This could have been a blessing in disguise for him.

In the Premier League, the German has not yet scored or assisted.

Regarding the statistics, Slot and Liverpool are currently looking at the past:

From the moment Murillo scored the opening goal from a corner, all the frailties were evident.

This year, Liverpool have conceded nine league goals from set pieces, excluding penalties, as many as they did last season.

The Kop, who were stunned into silence, watched as their anticipated second-half revival came to an end in exactly the 47 seconds it took former Liverpool defender Neco Williams to play in front of the crowd.

The goal’s simplicity exemplified both Liverpool’s lack of heart and intensity and Forest’s excellence.

intensity and heart.

These were given to Liverpool under Klopp and last season under Slot. Late victories that cover up gaps that have been present since August have hardly been seen this season.

Twelve minutes from the break, many Liverpool supporters had given up and were heading for the exits, and Morgan Gibbs-White performed the coup de grace.

The fans never resent their team, but the understated resentment was equally damning. Never did Anfield have the conviction that has helped Liverpool to win so many victories.

Liverpool and Slot are deeply in trouble here.

Keeping the title intact? Ignore it.

At this point in the campaign, no Premier League champions have been successful in defending their title with 18 or fewer points. They are already eight points clear of leaders Arsenal, who still has a game to play.

The table’s eleventh place team is Liverpool. In order for them to place in the Champions League, this is now being fought.
