Liverpool fear significant lower leg injury for Isak

The Swede left Arne Slot’s side in a limbo before being challenged by Micky van de Ven just as he got his shot awry, which made it impossible to continue.

Before joining Liverpool on deadline day, Isak first practiced alone at his former club, Real Sociedad.

He started just 10 games in all competitions without a proper pre-season, falling short of match fitness.

Additionally, Liverpool are without Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, who is competing with Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Hugo Ekitike, a fellow forward from Eintracht Frankfurt, was also on target at Spurs and is expected to keep leading the Reds’ attack.
