Littlejohn faces extended violent conduct ban

Ruesha Littlejohn, a midfielder for Crystal Palace, could receive a lengthy suspension after the Football Association said the standard sanction for her dismissal after an argument with Hannah Cain at Leicester City was “clearly insufficient.”

Littlejohn, 35, appeared to grab her rival around the neck before kicking her to the ground during Palace’s 3-0 victory on Sunday in the League Cup.

Three-game suspension is the standard punishment for violent conduct, but the FA can ask for an additional three if it considers a dismissal offence to be “truly exceptional.”

A regulatory commission will now take the case into consideration.

Ruesha Littlejohn of Crystal Palace FC was accused of clearly insufficient punishment, according to an FA statement.

The player was violently offended in the 58th minute, and a three-game ban is the standard punishment, but it’s claimed that this punishment is insufficient.

The commission will decide a new punishment if the claim is successful, but Littlejohn will serve the standard three-game suspension.
