Amena Karimyan inspires Afghan girls in her dreams by flying to the moon from Afghanistan to Germany.
Amena Karimyan has dreams of visiting the moon. She founded the astronomical club Kayhana as a self-taught civil engineer in Afghanistan. She encouraged young girls to look for the stars while creating a handmade version of the planet.
Amena was denied access to education and fled to Germany after the Taliban’s rule. She almost seems to be able to fulfill her astronaut dreams. However, she finds herself caught between her aspirations, German bureaucracy, and the burden of her past.
