third Test match between Australia and the British and Irish Lions
Accor Stadium Date: Saturday, August 2nd, 2019 12:00 BST
With wing Tommy Freeman having a back issue, the British and Irish Lions may have to make a late change for Saturday’s third and final Test match against Australia.
The 24-year-old is reportedly “touch and go” for the game in Sydney after missing Friday’s captain’s run at the Accor Stadium.
If the England international is unable, the Lions may have to make a backline change.
On the right wing, Mack Hansen has a like-for-like replacement, but he is not believed to be fully recovered from a foot injury three weeks ago.
James Lowe, who was dropped from the squad for the third Test, could also be a replacement after being trained with Huw Jones on the wing and Owen Farrell in the center.
The Lions are aiming to complete the series and win all of their Test matches on a tour for the first time since 1927 despite wrapping up the series with a stunning victory over the Wallabies in Melbourne, which came in a 29-26 victory over the Lions.
Forwards coach John Dalziel stated on Friday, “The job isn’t done in any way or form.”
